I started buying produce here a yr ago and it is excellent. The produce is fresh and the prices are better than grocery stores including walmart and superstore. They never run out of items like the grocery stores do and there is good product turnover as many people shop here. They carry the usual produce as well as other items like chinese noodles, salad dressings, spaghetti sauce, herbs, fruits . Checking out is fairly fast with always 2 or 3 cashiers open.

H&W is my new favourite place for produce. Despite what most may think because of the low prices, the produce here is usually fresh and qood quality. We usually stop here after our weekly grocery trip to Superstore because we know the prices will be way better! Typical fruits like apples and bananas will be about the same price, but seasonal fruits like strawberries will be half price if not less. And they have a great selection of hot peppers too, if you’re into that. If you don’t mind your produce a little less than perfect, check out their clearance shelf in the back corner by their stock room. You can score some great deals there, like a bag of lettuce for 0.99 cents or 2 zucchinis for $ 1. Hey, if it’s not mouldy, you’re fine. Plus you can just cut off the mouldy bits anyway and still live. I am proof of this. Bring your own reusable grocery bags, or they will give you a box to carry your groceries in, like Costco does.

My husband always knows when I have been to h and w produce. I come home with my arms full of vegetables waving the receipt in the air. You will never guess how little I paid for all of this! I know, to some it is not that exciting. To me, it’s thrilling. I also love that when I bring my kids with me there are fewer distracting, sugary foods. There are just rows and rows of vegetables. Can we get bananas? Sure! Look, mom! Carrots. You would think the kids never saw a carrot before! It’s actually nice to have them beg me for things that I can say yes to. The staff are usually super friendly. On occasion they miss the mark and are only regular-friendly. Horrible, I know.(Where is my sarcasm font?)

Prices here are great and most are cheaper than the grocery stores. The quality of the fruit and veggies aren’t all the best, but you can find some decent ones that aren’t bruised or nicked. If you are looking for cheap salad with an expiry date within a day or so, you can find it here! For 50 or 75 cents, you can get a bagged salad that is typically $ 3-$ 4 elsewhere. They had great deals such as 98 cents for peaches, and I bought a garlic bulb for 13 cents! They charge 5 cents for a bag but they also have boxes if you want to load up your product. I find it’s busy but never too busy when time to pay. Definitely great place to come to pick up produce.

I do my veggie shopping here when I can(in the fall and winter months), the location is convenient and I like supporting local businesses over chains. I like how the store is fairly compact but filled to the brim with all sorts of fruits and veggies, many of them much more exotic than you find at the regular chain supermarkets. I can buy an entire week’s worth of produce for a fraction of what I would spend at the chains as well. The only downside is that the items don’t always seem to be as fresh as what you might find at the big stores and sometimes the parking situation can get a little bit hairy. Just be mindful of when you are visiting the store to avoid parking issues and take the time to sort through all of the produce so you know that you’re getting the best of what they have to offer.

Well now… I am seriously impressed. I knew walking in that it was just produce. I also knew that is «supposedly» is a great deal less expensive then your everyday grocery store, but I was not sure about the quality nor the store in general — I was impressed, seriously impressed. At this point I can’t imagine ever buying produce anywhere else! The store was bright, spacious, fully stocked. All my usual array of fruits and veg where present. All looked in better, brighter shape then I am used to seeing and when I got to the till, I nearly had a heart attack: We are talking half the price of what I thought my total would be. I bought raspberries, blackberries, kale, grape tomatoes, mini cucumbers, broccolini all for $ 12! That is nuts! Oh, I bought a bag of nuts too!

This is absolutely the best place to get your fruit and vegetables! Great variety to choose from and everything there is fresh! Best part — it’s CHEAP compared to the big chains like Safeway/Save-on-Foods/Sobey’s/Superstore/etc. This place reminds me of the smaller grocery stores that I frequented when I lived in Montréal. Never expected to find something similar in good ol Edmonton but I am happy that I found this gem. One time I came here on a Sunday at 10am(when they open) and there was a small lineup of people waiting for the store to open! Did I mention it was raining too? Crazy. I guess they wanted to make sure they got the cream of the crop before the rest of people got up to do their groceries. Anyways, definitely a great place to hit up for your groceries.

I love places that specialize in what they do best and stick to it. H&W know produce and continue to stick to their game plan. Provide a huge variety of well priced produce. I will continue to go here everytime I need any produce and I live out St Albert. Just a few things that show the great price point: 5 limes for $ 1 4 lemons for $ 0.99 2 lbs of Strawberries for $ 2.99 Now those are prices you can’t beat!

This is a GREAT place to purchase affordable produce. The stock seems to be fairly consistent, but I wouldn’t count on a guarantee that what you want will be there. On my first visit I found an 11oz package of spinach and arugula for $ 2, but when I went a week later there was none there(so I bought the 11oz of spinach for $ 4 — still a great deal!). If you are planning on going to a couple grocers that day, stop here first just in case what you want is not in stock, and you can pick it up at another place after Some great finds are the bananas(in good quality and not bruised for 10 cents less a pound than the big chain stores) and kiwi(only 39 cents each!). I tried to purchase apples, but most were bruised, and the price difference wasn’t worth it. The store itself is fairly well kept and easy to navigate through. I think(although I’ve never asked) this is a «bag-your-own-groceries» kind of place. Each time I’ve been there I’ve let the cashier know I’ve brought my own bag and they just smile politely and start scanning my stuff through, but never put it in the bag, Not a big deal, just always good to know when you’re expected to bag your own things. :)

THE cheapest price for fresh fresh fruit and veggies. the strip mall is pretty jammed but i guess thats okay since i can walk there in 2 – 3 minutes. it’s pretty busy right before dinner so go on the off time. this is the biggest selection youll find and there isn’t that chance you’ll get it home and it will expire within 2 days. they are pretty good at making sure things are not close to their expiry date. Highly recomend for a healthy meal.

LOVE love LOVE H&W Produce! I am so happy they opened this location on the West End so I don’t have to drive across town anymore! This is the newest of the 4 locations(I am aware of). The parking lot is SUPER small… so if you can go during non-peak times you will have a much better time finding a parking spot. My favorite score at this location that I haven’t found at my previous H&W locations is when they get the smoothies from the grocery store a few days before expiry — I’ve bought both Boathouse and Arthurs’(Canadian) 100% juice smoothies in the 1 litre bottles for $ 1.99 and as little as 99 cents when they have 1 day left to expiry. Last time I picked up 30 bottles when they were 99 cents — came home and threw them in my deep freeze! Now, I just pull one out — let it thaw in the fridge and enjoy it the next two days! Just like the other locations — they have great prices with an ever changing selection! Just be prepared to eat or freeze the produce within a few days… and understand that they may or may not have the particular item you are looking for when you come. If you haven’t been there… Give it a try! You’ll be amazed at the savings!
