I love Tin! My sister recommended me to her, at first I wasn’t sure, as I had never been to a hair dresser in their own home. My experience was amazing! She is really funny and easy to talk to, she put on Ellen and it felt as if we were just hanging out. My hair turned out beautifully and the color lasted a really long time! I’ll also note that her prices are VERY reasonable. I recommend her to everyone, she definitely has a lifetime customer in me :) I’m looking forward to my next appointment!

I went to the ‘House of Tin’ salon and was disappointed. I asked for highlights, the stylist Tin asked very few questions before proceeding. In retrospect, I suppose the fault lies in both Tin and myself for not communicating effectively together. Afterwards, I was not satisfied in the amount of color put into my hair and the shade of color. When I asked Tin to fix my hair, Tin said no because 8 days had elapsed after my appointment which exceeded her 7 day rule. Tin said she did not want to be taken advantage of and if I want my hair fixed I will be charged an additional $ 60. I tried to plead my case and ask for some leniency but she refused to consider my request. In my opinion, she was trying to take advantage of me. Furthermore, I later received an e-mail intended for another recipient who missed his/her appointment and she was instating a $ 50 fee for missed appointments citing she was trying to eliminate no-shows for customers who really want/need an appointment. Tin is her own boss and these ‘rules’ are based on her own discretion; she is unwilling to put the customer first ahead of her own needs and the frustrations that come with running a business. Furthermore, I feel Tin is somewhat unprofessional in her ‘treat customers as friends’ approach. She had rap music playing and watched television as my hair set. I will not go back and do not recommend her services to others!

Yeah i have no idea what that other reviewer is talking about, must be an ex-friend or something. I just had my hair done by her yesterday and she has definitely made a life client out of me! She did an ombré color and cut, and i couldn’t be happier! The atmosphere she provides is very comfortable; I genuinely felt like i was just at a friends house getting my hair done. I also really appreciated how she educated me on things about my hair and what products to use/ways to style it. Shes very knowledgeable! She sells products just like regular salons, but didn’t push them on me at all, which i REALLY appreciated, that’s one thing i hate about most salons. I have already recommended her to several friends and will continue to do so! Thanks so much Tin!

I have _never_gotten as many compliments for my hair as I have since starting to go to TIn! In fact, I had almost given up on my thick, course hair — it seemed to have a life of its own and though my previous stylist could do great long cuts, any attempt at short cuts left me with a fuzzy pyramid around my head. I saw the amazing stylish short cut that TIn did for a friend and thought I’d try it — I haven’t gone anywhere else for the last two years. She has an incredibly developed understanding of what type of haircut suits one’s face and hair type. I couldn’t even count how many people have stopped to compliment my hair cuts and ask where I get them done. My one issue over the last few times is that my bangs have gone shorter than I’d liked(otherwise this would be 5 stars) — I’m finding that frustrating because it takes time to grow back out. I’ll try to be even more explicit about it next time and hope that it’s not a problem again. Overall though, still highly recommended, especially for short, stylish hair cuts!

I assure you that my previous review is TRUE and I take offense to the comment that it is a lie. If Tin has any integrity she will admit that this situation happened. I could attach email correspondance that Tin and I have had about this awful experience. Also, I spoke directly to the male manager at Mousy Browns and he was very professional but his message was clear about her performance while working at Mousy Browns. Believe whatever you wish, but I am entitled to share my experience as well. This is a website that is for that exact purpose. I assure you that I have better things to do than write false posts on Unilocal. We were also referred by friends that thought Tin was good, so it was a shock to leave her house with pink, green, brown hair when we requested blond foils. Never in 10 years had either of us had any stylist struggle with putting foils in our hair and the result has never been anything but blond. This review is not an opinion, but rather racts about exactly what happened a few months ago. Proceed with caution with this home stylist. If anyone else thinks that my review is false I will post the email correspondance that occured between myself and Tin.
