This was BYFAR the best pedicure I have ever received. I live north of the city but this is a trek worth making. The area is a little shady but I was wearing my big-girl pants and made it to my car safely. This is a family owned operation. The lady who did my feet was the mother of the duo and she was great. She was not shy about touching my feet. She got in there, down and dirty, and cleaned them up beautifully. They were as soft as a baby’s bottom upon my departure. She did, however, take her time so I felt bad for the next person who had to wait an extra 10 or 20 minutes. But she did a nice job and I haven’t a negative things to say. Anyone can paint a toe nail but not everywhere will give you a proper pedicure.

I went to Indulgence on a groupon-like deal for a pedicure and had to say that I was a little bit unimpressed. The salon itself is in the far south end of the city(not that I’m complaining — I live downtown, so anything out of the core seems like a lot of driving) in a little neighborhood strip mall. On the outside, it looks completely unassuming(and even a little shady) but the inside is plain, but nice and clean. I walked in 10 minutes early for my appointment and ended up waiting almost half an hour to get seated in the chair. They keep their pedicure stations in a small private room(with a manicure table) and it was just me and the pedicurist in there, so very quiet and a little bit awkward at times. The pedicurist knew what she was doing, but she lectured me for at least 20 minutes on how I cut my toenails, how I take care of my feet, how often I moisturize my skin, and then tried sell me on her knowledge of natropath beauty knowledge. It was a little bit exhausting and sort of insulting. Booking my appointment was a little bit tricky — I ended up emailing in to get an appointment and had a hard time due to their hours. Being someone who works 8 — 5 everyday, their open hours were very limiting and weekend appointments were seemingly months away. Judging from the fact that they only had two pedicure chairs in the spa, I’m going to assume it’s because it’s a small place with only a handful of staff members. I have had pedicures at spas across the city and can’t say that Indulgence offered anything that stood out or made me want to return. If you live in the neighborhood, I can see perhaps being a regular. But if not, keep driving, you have better options.
