Lash Affair

I used to always go here and get NovaLash extensions, which I loved. They lasted forever and the technicians were always great. I’ve been getting my lashes done on and off for a few years so I know all the rules and how to properly take care of them. I loved going to Lash Affair and always had great results. However, since the owner created her own brand called Candy Lash adhesive by Sugar lash pro, I need to find somewhere else. This is the absolute worst adhesive I have ever had. I have had Xtreme in the past, which was good. I’ve had NovaLash –which was the best so far — and Candy Lash was just awful. I paid a premium price and my lashes were falling off like crazy with huge gaping bald spots within just a few days. I’ve heard other complaints of the same thing with those that use Candy Lash. The technician did a great job but there’s only so much they can do when the product doesn’t hold up or do its job.

Ladies, DO NOT go anywhere else for your lash needs. This full service lash bar is well worth the price. Unbeatable quality AND great staff who are really skilled at what they do.
The studio is very clean, pretty and comfy. The beds are cozy and I fall asleep everytime!
I have gotten lash extensions at many other places in the city and this is BY FAR the BEST. It’s pain free (other studios have gotten glue in my eyes or lashes glued together when I open my eyes). I have nothing bad to say about this place. I am beyond impressed. The lashes were thick and beautiful looking without being heavy or fake. I didn’t experience alot of them falling out and when it can’t time fot removal … my natural lashes were not damaged ! In the past other studios have completely damaged my natural lashes to the point I needed to use serums to help regrow them.

I was looking for a new lash salon in Edmonton after a few negative experiences with another. I came across lots of different contenders, each offering different prices and levels of information on their business. Lash Affair was at the top of my list for the vast amount of info located on their website and their Facebook page, so when I saw a Groupon for a lash lift, I jumped at the opportunity.
I have had lash lifts before so I know what to expect out of the procedure, however I was completely blown away how Lash Affair had taken something so simple and clinical and made it into a relaxing spa-​like procedure. From the lovely soft client beds and blankets you are offered to the gorgeous turquoise accents throughout the salon, the atmosphere is super relaxing and luxurious. I was pleased at all the small touches — the music choices over the speaker system, the pleasant fragrance in the air, the use of non-​abrasive or irritating products, the gorgeous Lollia products on the shelves. All these little details make a huge overall difference on a product that is gradually becoming common in Edmonton. I’ve determined that Lash Affair is the best that our city has to offer, and they’re doing everything they can to stay on top.
I’m very into the convenience of booking and ordering things online, so I love that you can easily book an appointment via your computer or on your phone. I like that they are very clear on your appointment time, confirming via email, text message and on the phone (talking to a real person!).
I guess I should mention that my lash lift (which was done by a first time apprentice) turned out beautifully and I felt very taken care of. The customer service was very present without being overbearing or pretentious. The salon is very upfront about their products and putting their clients’ eyes and health first. I’m a convert! Even though I live in the downtown area and the drive is a little inconveniencing, I think Lash Affair is where me (& my eyelashes) are meant to stay.

I have become a complete lash addict. This place is the absolute best.

I’ve decided to finally tackle my to-​review list and when I came to the Lash Affair page, I was shocked to see that there are only two reviews, but then I noticed that there are 46 filtered reviews! That’s so not cool because the only two that are being shown are mediocre.
I want to start out by saying that I’ve been seeing the owner, Courtney, since day one. She was the first person I ever had apply eyelash extensions for me (back in 2009) and since we have so many of the same interests we became instant friends. I cannot even begin to explain how incredibly proud of Courtney Buhler and everything that she has created. She is an inspirational woman, mother, entrepreneur, lash technician and friend.
As a business owner, Courtney is dedicated to staying on top of the latest trends in the eyelash and eyebrow industry and she is always ready to discuss any new ideas or techniques you may have heard of from mink eyelashes to 3D, 6D, eye brow lacing, growth serum, eye lash perms, eye lash tints, permanent makeup, and more. Her attention to detail is incredible and she has really made sure that all of her staff share her dedication to quality.
When I was home last July I was a model for one of the newest lash technicians who was just learning the 3D lash application technique. Of course it took her much longer than an experienced technician might have taken, but the quality of her work was amazing. Courtney was close by the whole time offering her expert feedback and guidance to ensure her newest lash technician was doing everything perfectly.
If you’re considering eyelash extensions, I urge you to check out Lash Affair. The space is beautiful, the lash technicians are wonderful, and you’ll be well taken care of. It’s definitely worth the investment.

I tried lash extensions through Lash Affair in October/​November of last year for my engagement party. I was very satisfied with the initial application of my lashes. I wore them through a trip to Mexico and it was nice to get up in the morning and not have to do much beyond a bit of concealer for those late night dark circles. I went back for a fill in November and had some issues with clumping. I went in again to have the lashes taken off. The removal procedure was quite uncomfortable and harsh on my skin and I was left with some damage to my natural lashes. It took a while for the business to acknowledge this problem which unfortunately soured my experience with them. Thankfully, the owner has offered me a refund and an apology. Six months later and a couple bottles of Latisse and my lashes are back to where they were before.
Lash extensions are a big decision as they are something you have to think about in your everyday activities. The owner will readily tell you that you have to sleep differently, avoid touching your eyes, and spend time on extra care as well as buy specific products if you want your lashes to last. There have also been some studies linked to follicle damage with long term use. Please do your research before committing to this as it is just that: a commitment. They require fills at least once a month so this a financial commitment as well.

I LOVE this place. The ladies are really friendly and do a great job. I have had lashes put on by Hillary and Emily, both ladies did really good work. I’ve had my lashes for about 1.5 months and it really cuts down time in the morning while I’m getting ready for work.
The prices are pretty good, quite a bit lower than most places if you take the time to look around a bit. It’s true what they say though, lashes are a bit of a committment around the upkeep — but if you take care of them and go in for 2.5 week fills, your lashes will continue to look great.
