food overall is actually pretty good, only problem i personally have is serving size. Due to the banock being a very small size when it comes out, the patty matches the size of the bannock, making the portion sizes very small.

What can I say, I love their food truck so the fact that I enjoy this restaurant location (which is sadly closing soon) is no surprise to me! I visited recently and was happy with the mix of indigenous décor, good food and a happy server. I mean, there are so few restaurants in Edmonton where you can get good bannock and so this place is certainly worth it! I went for a bison bannock burger during my visit and wasn’t disappointed. It was the perfect amount of food!
I look forward to checking out their food truck in the future, and it’s only too bad I didn’t discover this bricks and mortar restaurant until so soon before they’ll be leaving this location. The music here was rather entertaining and the fact that they have pictures of some of the famous people who have visited on their wall is great too! Additionally, they have items for sale that are not food items but rather indigenous creations and art.

Went there today for lunch, it was fantastic. Service was amazing, very polite and friendly. Just by walking in you can feel the love and passion from all of the workers there. Food was amazing. We walked in staving and walked out stuffed. I will go back over and over again, also tell everyone I know to check it out. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Not exactly what I was expecting… But absolutely fantastic! The owner, Ian, is passionate about everything on the menu and it shows. We walked in at 6:45 thinking they closed at 8… Nope. 15 minutes before close and he wouldn’t let us polite our way out of there. Buffalo burger and Native taco. The bannock was crispy and warm and everything tasted great. Will definitely be back!

Came here for lunch the other day and really enjoyed myself. It’s mostly burgers and hot dogs but with a Native American twist — basically they used bannock instead of regular burger or hot dog buns.
It seems so simple, but it’s a really unique way to have a burger or a hot dog. They also have tacos and other menu items. The condiment stand here is pretty decked out… far beyond your basic mustard, ketchup, and onions most places would have. They’ve got tea from Mother Earth Essentials and The Algonquin Tea Company, and coffee from Spirit Bear Coffee. I was even told by the man working that the owner will sometimes make off-​menu items like elk stew.
The café is a good size with several tables and chairs. They even have a video game system that plays old Nintendo games, which is pretty cool (at least I thought so, I’m a child of the 90s). They staff is friendly, the atmosphere is fun, and the food is good. It’s a pretty unique local business and if you’re over by Kingsway/​NAIT you should definitely stop by for a bite.
I mean they have a sign that says «Don’t Panic. We Got Bannock.» How can you not love a business like that?

I had the bannock burger with fries. The fries and the burger pattie were good but the bannock bun was fantastic, I will return.

Heard about Chef Ian Gladue. Worth the drive. Would like to see more native food joints, especially if this quality. Ordered the elk stew w bannock. Partner ordered taco. Both delish!

Amazing place. Food was great and it match the company of Chef and Owner Ian Gladue. We had the Nehiyaw Taco and Elk Stew. The complimentary tea was amazing.
On our way to Anchorage, Alaska, this was a must stop for us. We are big supporters of #Aboriginal #FirstNations businesses, this was a treat as it was on our way. Thank you!

Totally unique. Great prices. Student discounts. Great condiments station. Good bannock.
Located on 118 avenue pretty close to the large complex with multiple stores on 103 st. This place has ample parking. I snagged one hour free parking right in front which was super awesome.
Once inside you find yourself in a cool café like theme. With heavy metal music blaring loudly with a large tv. Theres a bar at the back which has a small menu listed cafeteria style.
I noticed from the menu that all the burgers were specialty burgers. For example cheese/​bacon or mushroom/​swiss or bison. There were no plain burgers on the menu. Except of course for the childs menu. For me this was a downer as im simple and sometimes will sacrifice cheese on my burger for maybe a trade off for a milkshake or a poutine. So to not have the option was slightly disheartening for me. So minus a star.
I ordered the bison bannock burger with a kids bison burger combo. The kids meals are a great deal. A fountain drink or lemonade with a small mini bison bannock burger. Approaximatly half the size of the regular portions.
After ordering we took a seat and watched some tv. It was before the lunch time rush so my order was the only one in and it took about 15 minutes to arrive after ordering. Nice you know everything is super fresh when its literally piping hot. One look at my order and it was clear it was made to order from scratch. On the side of the bar is a condiment station which had the freshest ingreadients ive ever seen at a burger bar. They looked freshly cut and it looked clean and sanitary. This was my favourite part of my visit. Unlimited pickles, jalapeño peppers, onions, lettuce and tomatoes. With freshly squeezed ketchup and mustard. I like this idea as i find most burger joints put way too much sauce for my liking and this was a great option. So i must add a star for this!
My burger on its own was very lean. Which was expected for bison. But for me was slightly underseasoned. A tad more spices or salt would of easily brought the burger to new heights but was good despite this. The bannock was large. Too big too eat together. i ended up eating it openfaced and not even finishing my top half at all. For the price its a large portion. So the price is right for what you get. I overheard a bunch of nait students order too and i guess they get 10% off their entire order.
While eating my lunch the place got packed quickly with lots of takeout orders. I noticed it does take awhile for the kitchen and they seemed overwhelmed for the lunch rush as theres only one cook. Its about 30 – 50 min wait for some orders. And if that was me i would of been really turned off. So unless you got lots of time on your hands. Dont order takeout or hope to rush in and out of this place. But freshness takes time. So for this mild annoyance ill minus a star. Bc hey… sometimes you want a burger quick. I must add this place is very new and its been less than a month after opening so i can say hopefully they work out this kink.
Overall my service was excellent and super friendly. Everything was provided for quickly and my food was really fresh and exceeded my expectations. I now can enjoy that beloved bison bannock burger anytime! Not just at heritage days. So score! This place is unique and its nice to have something completly different.
Ps they have ready made bannock with dessert flavours to be sold by the piece at the counter too.

I called Native Delights in the early afternoon on a Friday just to check when they closed that evening. I was told by a lady that they closed at 10pm.
When I showed up at the restaurant at 8:15pm that same day the guy behind the counter said sorry, the grills are turned off and we are about to close. Disappointed, I asked him if they are open on Saturday and he said yes, until 10pm.
The very next evening I showed up again at 8:15 pm and encountered a locked door and a lady smoking outside said that they’re closed.
WTF?
I talked to two employees (owners?) of Native Delights and was burned twice in a row.
The people who work here are beyond incompetent and unprofessional.
They don’t seem to mind lying to people over the phone and into people’s faces.
They don’t seem to care whether or not prospective customers like myself mind wasting gas money and driving 20 minutes out of my way to try out there restaurant, only to be given the run around twice.
Such a restaurant with such deplorable customer service and unprofessionalism is worth neither my time and money or yours.
If clues were shoes the people who run Native Delights would be walking around in bare feet.
SIMPLY PATHETIC.

I had tried these guys at Taste of Edmonton and was so excited to find out they opened a restaurant. We went in for an early dinner and the place was very easy to find with lots of street parking. The staff were very friendly and service was quick. They also offer a to go or delivery menu that services the whole city!
I ordered the tacos while my boyfriend got a bannock burger. The portions were very filling and the food was so delicious! I love bannock and it was absolutely amazing. They also had a great selection of baked bannock buns as desserts with reeses and skor flavors. This will probably be a regular spot when they bannock cravings come.

Delicious Bannock Buffalo Burgers served by very friendly staff! You should be eating here! Great sides and substantial portions, plus it appeases my guilt over being white a little to order here!

I have had the pleasure of being able to chat with the owner while waiting for my Bannock burger when Native Delights had a booth at Mother’s Market.
Ian is someone that is passionate about his food, and with his partner that is passionate about health, they make a great team.
This is Native Delight’s first real, sit-​down Reataurant. It is in the old Sloppy Hoggs space located very near the NAIT campus.
The space is nicely decorated but can be very loud and cramped when busy.
The staff are all lovely and friendly, but were struggling a bit as this was their first day open to the public. The ordering process was slow, and we waited for our food for about an hour. PLEASE be patient, I guarantee it will be worth the wait!
I have had the pleasure of eating one of Native Delight’s bannock burgers previously and I love them. The Bannock is a great recipe that Ian has developed all on his own. He said he wishes it was one that was passed down through generations, but that just isn’t the case.
Bannock is a «fry-​bread» so be prepared to get greasy and use lots of napkins. The patties are made fresh and the rest of the ingredients are also fresh — no processed cheese here!
I had the Bison stew. It was full of flavour. The bannock was a delicious way to sop up some of the broth. The Bison was a bit dry, but still really good.
Native Delights serves breakfast from 8am to 11am. They have a really healthy looking salad on the menu and a great variety of burgers. There is also a kid’s menu.
Native Delights has brought Spirit Bear Coffee and Algonquin Teas to the spotlight for you to enjoy. Algonquin’s herbal line is one of my go-​tos at home.
There is street parking only in this area. They will be doing take-​out and delivery.
