Love it that they are back at Rice Howard Way again, now my choice for lunch is much easier to decide. Food is excellent and never disappoints me yet. Today had the Pork Champion Sammy with a side of Mac & Cheese, and again very delicious.

I crave Nomad Kitchen. I tried it at the beginning of the year at an event they catered, and made sure to grab their card to Google them afterwards. I was so happy to discover they were a food truck as well! They know how to handle their pork! The pulled pork sandwich($ 9) I tried this week was amazing but their side of potato salad was spectacular! I have never had potato salad that still has me talking about it on the third day. It was the perfect blend of… everything they put in it. I cannot remember ingredients as all I was thinking was mmmmmm. Just try it, you cannot go wrong. You also have to love their humour, calling their mac and cheese«crack and cheese($ 8).»

Nomad Nomad Nomad — my tastebuds long for your housemade sausage, no matter how wrong that sounds. I’m usually late to the Food Truck party at lunchtime so most of the specials have usually run out but when I do get there — my favourites are the Meatball Rocket Sandwich — which is literally out of this world, the housemade sausage — which is paired with a stellar slaw that hints at mustard seed spice and of course the Crack ‘n’ Cheese — mac n cheese topped with pork crackle(the crunchy fat bits on the outside of pork that is a flavour maelstrom for your mouth). Friendly service with a smile — oh and try the housemade tea for a real southern US flavour. The lack of perfect stars comes from how they almost always run out of food no matter where I find them but I look on the bright side and think they are running a great business with low spoilage for them so Kudos! Cash only so bring your five dolla dolla bills y’all!

After missing out on Nomad last summer, I found them on Rice Howard Way last week. They have one special each day, which makes ordering a bit awkward. «I’ll have the… only thing on your menu?» They may only do one thing, but they do it well. The day I went, they had a pulled pork sandwich with mac and cheese with crackling and coleslaw. So delicious. I paid $ 9 for my lunch, which was pretty reasonable given how filling it was. You can save $ 1 by bringing your own plate.

Nomad is a new food truck who recently started operation in Edmonton. Their location during the week seems to be at 102st and Jasper avenue, and Thursday evenings at the Alberta Avenue farmers market.(93st and 118 ave) Their website is The best was to find them seems to be twitter. Find them by searching @nomadmobile I pulled up to the farmers market last thursday shortly before closing time and got the last order of chorizo chili to take home and share with my wife. It was served with grilled cornbread, which was really good. I still can’t believe I made it all the way home without eating any… it smelled so good. When I got home my wife had the first taste… and I had to wrestle the container back for fear she would devour the whole thing without saving me any. It was truly a great chili. They tend to tweet a picture, and put one on the website as well, and I’d say everything i’ve seen so far looks really, really good. Between Nomad, and Drift food truck(also opened last week) the Edmonton street food scene has made a major leap forward.
