We will open your senses with flavour sensations and stretch your expectations of what olive oils and balsamic vinegar should taste like. Our Tasting Consultants will take you on a personal tasting experience through our store and will guide you as you experience 60+ flavours. Tastings by appointment and Private Tasting Parties are also available.
History
Established in 2013.
Roots in South Africa
The founders of OLiV, Awie and Isabeau du Toit, came across the concept of a shop dedicated to olive oil and balsamic vinegar sales while Isabeau was visiting in New Mexico. Having previously acquired property in a wine-producing area in the Western Cape province of South Africa, and after already having made the decision that as a medical professional (Awie is a practicing radiologist) it would be hypocritical to be involved in the production of alcohol, the couple of bottles of oil and balsamics that Isabeau purchased set into motion a chain of events that would change the du Toit’s lives forever.
By truly understanding the olive business, they are able to provide true extra virgin olive oils that are not chemically altered in any way. This ensures that health benefits inherent in a true extra virgin olive oil due to both its high content of mono-unsaturated fatty acids and its high content of anti-oxidants is passed along to the end consumer at OLiV.
