We’ve made this place a regular hangout. I first learned of this place by doing my gore related performances here. The servers are very friendly. The food is good. The shows they have here are not to be missed(shameless self promoting implied). Desirae you will find during the day. A lady who remembers her custumers favorite drinks and a social and lovely lady. In the evenings is former front man for the metal band Dead Jesus, Calvin. This guy works his ass off to the crowded evenings. Visually the place looks like your average dive bar but in the root of it all you”ll find a lot of heart.

I’m becoming really fond of this bar. I’ve been there a few times, usually to watch a live Burlesque show, and I love the sound, the service and the prices. True, it hasn’t got the prettiest ambiance, but I understand they’re working on that. Rendevous has a reputation for being a headbanger bar, but I saw people playing pool and just having a few… someone’s grandma played the VLTs, and not everyone at our table was a hardcore rocker, but I don’t think they felt out of place. The best part? I could hear the music AND my friends. We could have conversations without screaming. Plus I care a lot less about atmosphere than I do about good service and good food and I got both. Today I went with a group of friends. We enjoyed ourselves at the live shows, and we just discovered they serve FOOD. So we decided to check it out. Sure it’s the standard bar cuisine – burgers, poutine, dry ribs, salads… But it is good quality, tasty stuff at a nice low price. I had the perogies and bacon. The perogies were cheesy and tender, and covered in green onions and real bacon, served with a side of sour cream, of course. So good… it hit the spot and only 8.95. After checking out everyone else’s plates, I think i’ll try a burger or the dry ribs next time. The Wing Special looked good too. And you won’t find any apathetic bimbo waitresses either. The bartenders work hard and fast, and I don’t think I’ve ever had to wait in line very long for a drink, even last Saturday when the place was swamped. The bartender remembered what I drank, made eye contact, and when I gave the nod, he grabbed my cooler for me. And in case you’re wondering? The bathrooms are actually pretty clean. I don’t care if it’s classified as a dive bar. I love it, and I’m going to be spending more time there.

I finally got a chance to go in and try the food. The wings were a fairly decent size and the honey-garlic sauce was great. The wings were cooked properly — not overdone. One of the only pubs I have been in where you are given the finger bowl. Very nice touch! The Turkey Clubhouse that my husband had he quite enjoyed. Good sized portions, really decent prices.

Great place to go for weekend heavy metal shows, with drink specials and a kitchen in case you get the munchies

This place is a pretty gross bar. I only went here because my friend’s boyfriend’s band was playing and I was talked into it. Because we took over the bar with all of our friends, the place wasn’t too bad, but I know on any other night that this place is not a great place to go. It is like any other dingy bar in Edmonton. Nothing special about it. I won’t be returning unless I am sucked into it again!
