This place closed down earlier than the sign said. But service was kind and forgiving.

Today we walked in no one was waiting for a drink inside the store. We never got our drinks b/c after we ordered the 2 girls behind the counter hadn’t even started our drinks. They asked us what we ordered and I said that it had already been 12 minutes of waiting and would like a refund. We took the $ and went to Starbucks instead.

I’ve been here a few times. Staff are always friendly. My beverage of choice is a quad long espresso in a large cup and many places don’t make it well or know what it is. Today they were short staffed and one lady wasn’t sure how to make it or what to charge but the other cheerily helped out. This is my go to location now that the nearby mall location is closed. Wifi is good and it’s a clean and quiet location.

First off, let me just be honest… I’m a Starbucks girl through and through. Okay, now that I got that off my chest, I think I can continue on… I come to this location several times a month on my lunch break with coworkers as it is the closest specialty coffee shop to my work location. I find the beverages here hit and miss. For example, my beverage two weeks ago was incredibly bitter to the point that I elected to pour the nectar of the god’s(otherwise known as an eggnot latte) down the sink upon returning to work. On my next visit, I inquired with the barrista who surmised that the previous barrista had probably made the espresso shots ahead of time while waiting to steam/froth the milk/egg nog which led to a bitter espresso shot due to the air exposure prior to combining. Well, if it’s that simple and espresso shots are really what they are in business for, why on earth would one of your barristas do this? Is it lack of training or lack of caring? Anyhow, I decied to give it another try and this time my Egg Nog Latte was perfect. But at $ 5 for a large, it was disappointing to have wasted my previous beverage and a replacement was not offered. I’d like to chalk it up to a fluke but this has been consistent with my coworker’s experiences at this location as well — hit and miss. They regular coffee of choice is good one day and not quite right the next. Second Cup does run random promotions throughout the year like Latte Tuesdays where they are $ 1 of for so but it would be good to see a loyalty/rewards program like Starbucks offers where regular consumers can earn free beverages or bites as well as receive customized offers either via e-mail or on their smartphone. Regardless, I’m sure I’ll be seeing you soon Second Cup.

I occasionally come here to study on days off when I need to get out of the house. It’s a decent location, with free wifi, and the staff here keep to themselves for the most part. During weekdays, there are a lot of housewives with their young children/babies who come in for a latte… I’ve had to sit through a temper tantrum over a hot chocolate that wasn’t quite up to some bratty kid’s standards. So if you were planning to get some work done, make sure you bring your headphones!

Anymore northeast and this Second Cup would be in Fort Saskatchewan! Haha! Kidding… well not really! Not quite Fort Saskatchewan, but its a quick driving distance away. I wonder if I could shoot a model rocket into the Fort from this SC! What I really like about this space is that there is a healthy amount of plug-ins for laptops. Bravo! There is also a nice corner hideaway space near the entrance where once can tuck away for a little privacy. Nice! Not a whole lot of customers either so its quieter than average. My new study option!

I love their drinks, I usually go 2the one on 167 av and 97 st but I’m pretty sure they’re all the same just very dissapointed that they have no vegetarian options(no sandwiches or wraps even their croussants have ham in them) probably y they rate 3 stars in my book, I was pretty hungry when I went and ended up with a vanilla bean hot chocolate and had to go look elsewhere for something 2eat. :(I absolutely hated that.
