We had a disappointing service there but the management took the time to make it up to us.

We had our Christmas dinner at Share. I made a reservation through Open Table for Dec. 25 and received a call from the restaurant the next day informing me there had been a glitch. They had been fully booked for a month. I said that I had spent considerable time finding a good restaurant that was open that day, and I have an email confirmation, so what could they do for us? Share staff said they would seat is in the lounge. They called me on Christmas Day to confirm and again I asked if they would move us into the actual restaurant if they had room. I was told to call back and talk to the evening staff. I said I would not be able to do that as we were going out for the afternoon and asked that they just do what they could as this problem was not our responsibility. When we arrived we did have a table in the restaurant. The service varied as for a short time they seemed understaffed. It was a fixed menu and at one point we waited quite awhile for our salad course. They came to us with the main course and we asked if the salad was to have come first? Indeed they scurried to find us salads which felt like they had been refrigerated for awhile… they were quite cold. The food was tasty, but later that night we both had unusual, shall we say, air escaping our bodies. This is not the norm for us. I question if things were kept warm too long or possibly reheated? All staff were friendly and even the manager stepped in to help his staff. That made the evening pleasant. This would not be my first choice again, if choice was to be had.

Allan G. and I needed to run some home improvement errands today, and were looking for something different to do for lunch near downtown(because of our first stop). We’ve done De Dutch, Craft Beer Market, and Madison’s, Al’s still holding a grudge against Normand’s for not being open last time we tried to go, and we we were tired of Cora’s(and there isn’t one close to downtown). Plus, a lot of the places opened later than we wanted to get started. I’m still in the process of losing weight, so I wanted some healthy options. And that is how we decided to try Share at the Westin. I saw all the wonderfully healthy breakfast options and got all happy. Egg white omelets, granola, muesli, and fruit bowls, and other stuff that won’t make you waddle out and feel stuffed for hours. Al had the Salmon Eggs Benedict, which he found perfectly acceptable. I had the Turkey egg white omelet, which also came stuffed with cheese and arugula. Our server was very apologetic that they were out of avocado for the salad, but brought me a small serving of guacamole and wondered if that would be OK. I LOVE avocado in any form, so was fine with that. I also had the bowl of berries. Plenty to fill me up. They also have a breakfast buffet which looked really yummy. All the usual standbys, plus a customized omelet station. If I hadn’t known I’d overeat, I would have had that. Not a big crowd, the food was good, and it was nice and quiet, not crawling with kids, which is always a plus for me,

A true gem! I’ve been staying at the Westin since February and only now have I discovered a favorite in Edmonton! Tucked in the back of the Westin hotel, you’ll find a intimate restaurant with superb food and service, and décor with character. I wish I would’ve known about this restaurant earlier! The chef prepared an amazing course menu with wine pairing compliments to the Westin! I was never a fan of gnocchi until tonight. I was presented with homemade gnocchi with fresh asparagus and red bell peppers topped with freshly cooked salmon(not fishy at all) in an amazing creamy sauce which was not rich as it appeared to be. The gnocchi outbeats Corso32 which is ranked #1 on Unilocal. Every detail was very much appreciated. The personal message on the dessert was the icing to the overall experience. Thank you to the Westin staff for exceeding any expectations I had, and going beyond to make me a very satisfied guest!!! I’m definitely dining here more often now that I know that such an amazing restaurant was just an elevator away!
