I love shopping at this grocery store, good prices great selections and really really good customer service. Would only change one thing, offer more organic produce. But I love shopping here :)

I used to shop at the Hawkstone Sobey’s until this location opened. This new location is spacious, clean and has a good selection of groceries which is nice. What I hate about the old and this new Sobey’s is the service. You never see any staff in the store if you need help or can’t find something. This location does have some older staff, not just students but still offer poor service. Yesterday I was there after work so it was a little busy. I walked around the entire produce dept. looking for green onions, there was none to be found and no one to ask. I saw a coupon for Quaker products, buy 4 and get 1 free. I bought four boxes of oatmeal to get a free box of granola bars which were $ 2.49. The cashier took off $ 2 for the coupon so I said it should have been $ 2.49. She replied, no you only get $ 2 off. Instead of arguing with her since there was a line, I left with my groceries. With so much competition around, I think I will shop at Safeway and Save On Foods instead!

Grocery shopping around dinner time on a Saturday, the store wasn’t too busy. It’s bright, clean, and has a good layout. Like other Sobey’s they offer a deli and meals that one can bake and heat up at home. They had a special if you spend $ 75 that you could receive a free chicken, take and bake pizza, or cake. This is great as it was about a $ 10 value. I like the fresh cut fruit selection, offering coupons for items, and great deals. The meat selection wasn’t much but it could have been the time of day we went. Three cashiers were open and we didn’t have to wait in line. The Sobeys card is great as you can accumulate points when you shop to redeem for money off in the future. Will be shopping at this store more in the future!

After an official opening more than 6 months ago, I still don’t understand how Sobey’s consistently has weekly Grand Opening specials. But I’m not complaining. These deals have been great and for some reason, having Sobey’s in the outskirts of our suburbs gives Lewis Estates a little sense of community. The grocer isn’t super busy but it still has enough customers walking about the store. What I love are the cereal deals. They have random specials on cereals and as a guy living on his own, nothing beats saving money combined WITH cereal. Oh yeah, their produce is really fresh and they often have great deals on fruits too. For those who don’t drive, it’s situated right beside Lewis Farms bus station and right off the Henday. My only complaint is it’s a tad cold inside but maybe it keeps the food all fresh? P.S: I also enjoy the fact they have a mini floral section so I can randomly buy my girlfriend flowers! Food for me, flowers for her!
