Not very impressed with my visit to this location. Not my first time to visit there, it was my second… and last. I visited there last night with my friend, it was fairly busy but we instantly got a table and our waitress took our drink order very promptly and had our beverages at the table in record time. It was all down hill from there. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan with a side of linguine with Alfredo sauce, my friend ordered a stir fry with a bowl of soup to start. It took about 20 minutes for his soup to arrive and our full meals arrived about two minutes later. The portion size of his stir fry was very disappointing, I’ve seen larger portions in frozen TV dinners. The pasta was wrong with my meal, so they took it back to the kitchen. It finally arrived as my friend took the last few bites of his stir fry. I wasn’t impressed with the very hard/dry Chicken Parmesan and the pasta tasted horrible, I found the tomato sauce on the chicken have tomato chunks in it which I hate,(I asked the waitress before I ordered if it had chunks of tomatos or it was a more of a purée, she said there were no chunks…) The flavor of the Alfrado sauce was VERY disappointing. It tasted like milk and garlic, it was very thin and not very good. One positive point is all food brought to the table was very hot, but everything else was unfortunately negative. The waitress did check on us while I was eating, I told her I wasn’t impressed with the food, but she simply acknowledged my comment and walked away. I didn’t finish my meal and when it came time to pay I requested the manager. He offered me 20% discount at first OR a free ¼ chicken meal. I told him I don’t want a ¼ chicken meal as I don’t eat any meat that isn’t de-boned and I wouldn’t be returning anyhow. He eventually gave me 50% off which was appreciated.

This particular location is very good. The manager is around checking on tables, the take out manager is really good and the staff appear trained. I get the impression it is a well run place. I eat in Holly’s section every time and have never had a problem(can’t comment on the other servers but they all seem to be at least average and appear trained). There are not many places I’ll eat but I get a good vibe here good enough to come post a review.

The best swiss chalet in town, relatively fast service and the place still has the feel of being new. We like to go there often, try the presto pasta, creamy and tasty.

Service was horrible — waited a very long time. Never came back to check and see how the meal was — the chicken dinner was luke warm at best and the portion was very tiny(resembled a pigeon). Partner tried the beef dinner and it was sub par as well even though it is a new feature. The mashed potatoes were cold also. Would not go back.

We have ordered delivery and also sat here and ate a couple of times. The delivery despite being about ten minutes from our place took an eternity to arrive and was super cold. It was also just devoid of any flavour and dry. When we recently arrived on a Saturday night, we waited a while to be greeted and then we had to ask to be seated on a quieter side of the restaurant. They seemed quite slammed and took an eternity for ant service, but the server was very friendly and apologetic for the delays. Our drinks too a while to come out and the Shirley temple was not what it should have been. The food itself though was very tasty and my main, the chicken Parmesan on a Kaiser bun was very tasty and sizeable. The pricing is fairly average so that is a plus and there is ample parking. Décor is nothing special, and more staff may have helped, but overall our time there was good and the food was tasty.

Swiss Chalet seems to be becoming more & more mediocre, and this Windermere location is no exception. While the greeting is warm and the décor nice, the service is lacking timliness and any measure of attention. After several repetitions and request, our server finally got a simple order of chicken dinners correct. The food arrive luke warm — likely need speedier delivery from the kitchen to the table. The ribs are good and the chicken flavourful… but we will think twice before spending anymore money at this location!

This is one of the newer Swiss Chalets in the city, and I had a chance to try it the other night. The place feels brand new — modern, clean, comfortable. While the young kids might not make it a great date atmosphere, it’s great for just going out with family. The food was decent, as Swiss Chalet usually is, but the service here was the real star. We phoned ahead since we knew we had a fairly large group. No problem, they could set aside a table for us. We must have been the only people to do this that night, since as soon as we said«we called ahead» they correctly guessed who we were and took us to our table. Our orders were taken quickly by an enthusiastic and eager-to-please waitress. She quickly brought our drinks out and promptly refilled them when they ran low. When our food arrived, there were a few people who hadn’t been there before who were impressed with the generous portions. However, they had run out of the soup someone had ordered and were making more, but this was only discovered when everyone’s food arrived and someone was left out. No problem for this waitress — she immediately offered a free appetizer in place of the soup, and this was brought out very quickly. By the time we were leaving they had made more soup, so she brought some out in a take-home container at no charge. She truly went above and beyond, which was unexpected at a Swiss Chalet — this is certainly a cut above others in the city. I’d be happy to go back!
