The Briefing Room

A well organized, beautiful store location. Lots of colour, options, variety and great fun socks! The underwear selection is good too through pricey. The biggest issue I had upon visiting is that they do not carry enough larger sizes for men with larger feet or waist/​underwear sizes (and when they do get stock in, it apparently flies off the shelves and is sold out far too quickly). Still I was able to find some great things for some of the men in my life and hope that they enjoy them! It was great to visit here during Unilocal Shops Local and it’s a great place to be aware of on Whyte Avenue! I also really appreciated the great level of customer service provided by the gentleman behind the counter — his demeanor was superbe and he was great at wrapping my gifts and even providing a gift receipt!

I’ve never knew there was so many brands of underwear before. I’ve bought a few pairs here and they were fantastic. Will probably never buy from a department store again when there are sooooo much variety. They also do socks and mens shaving supplies as well.

Wouldn’t normally go into this kind of store because I’m not a big fan of funky designed underwear. Funky socks, however, are a different story! Also add a kiosk in Southgate mall and these socks can catch my eye. What can I say? Dazzling socks are shinny to me! They have some really cool, high quality socks here. The brand I looked at was called sock guy. It had the sizes for guys and girls printed on the package.
Purchased Sriracha themed socks that just made me crack up. Yes, the famous rooster and all were printed on these socks along with some of the Chinese characters on the bottle. It’s stupid, but had to buy them! Very pricey at $ 12.95 and likely it is cheaper finding on line. But sometimes it’s about the here and now and the laughs it will provide are priceless. Fun times!

A unique specialty shop located on Whyte Ave for all your manly underoo needs! (Kinda like the Victoria’s Secret of Men’s Underwear).
Popped in for the first time during November’s Unilocal Shops Local with my children in tow who were most entertained by the live male models. My oldest suggested we come back to purchase a «fancy pair of panties» for Dad’s next birthday.
I was really blown away by the variety and stylish options. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere inviting.
They offer all kinds of special services like private shopping parties and underwear clubs where a pair of briefs comes to the recipient in the mail (Ladies, think monthly makeup boxes like Ipsy or Julep).
If you’re looking for something intimate and out of the ordinary for Valentine’s Day next month, I think the Briefing Room is perfect!

Great selection, great people, and community minded business make The Briefing Room the best place to go for men’s underwear, socks, PJs, swim wear etc. For so long, especially in Edmonton, you couldn’t touch fabrics or find anything unique in men’s underwear which is why I am so pleased to be able to see the stuff in person. You obviously can’t do this online either.
The stock is always changing so if you find something you like and must have, buy it while it’s available. This is probably what makes it feel like you haven’t been there in 6 months when you were actually there 4 weeks ago and when you lady stocked up. The pricing is pretty good too, often cheaper than online premium underwear websites.
And of course Whyte Ave is always a great place to go shopping. The hours are especially good for an independent business, which I think most people can appreciate.

This store is the best shop for men’s underwear! They have an amazing selection of fun and stylish undies! They also throw amazing shopping parties! Definitely check it out on Whyte Ave!

My husband and I love this store. There’s a huge selection of men’s undies — and they are always adding to the product selection including lounge wear, ties, socks, shaving and more.
Check out the Underwear A Month Club. I signed up the Hubba Hubby for three months as a valentines day gift. February was hand delivered by Canada Post, came with a welcome to the club card, and delivered what are now his favourite pair. We can’t wait to see what’s coming this month!

Great store! I bought a bunch of funky briefs for my bf here for xmas! Also, the staff was friendly and really helpful with sizing etc. Definitely a great add to the strathcona area!

What a cool store. Having been a guy who always use to wear boring, ill-​fitting department store undies (the ones that come in a pack of 5…) this store has really helped to open my eyes. There are honestly few simple pleasures in life for a man that can match the feel and confidence a good quality (and properly fitting) pair of underwear can bestow.
The guys who run this place are super friendly and do a great job experimenting with new inventory. Every time I go in they have some really novel item on display.
There’s some guys who might be a bit prejudice (or frankly scared) about shopping for sexy underwear. But all I can say is: my wife loves them. And if you can go that little bit further to put a smile on your partner’s face (especially if they’re putting in the effort for you) why wouldn’t you try?
Just a cool store all around.

Sometimes a woman has business in a men’s underwear shop. Based on past experiences, men seem to not like women in their spaces, but I felt welcome here.
I’ve been searching for a double-​edged safety razor for months now. Ladies, they’re the best thing to shave your legs with – a close shave with one leaves your legs soft, and it will last longer than anything else you could shave with. Seriously, once you’ve used one, you’ll feel like using a disposable razor of any kind is tantamount to using a dull axe. And once you buy the handle part, the blades themselves are much cheaper than even the cheapest disposable razor, and far more environmentally friendly. And if you’re a guy, I’ve been told that nothing beats the ease and quality of a shave with a safety razor.
The man (the owner?) who assisted me didn’t bat an eyelash when I said I needed a safety razor for myself. He kindly showed me what he had to offer, with prices ranging from $ 25 to $ 75 (with prices based on the metal used – heavier handles have a better drag, resulting in a better shave). He also included some samples of a shaving cream that he said women were coming in to buy for themselves – so I’m not the only one! If you and/​or your man is all set on the razor side of things, they also carry every imaginable sort of shaving accessory.
So all of you women should chuck your crappy old razors, then run to The Briefing Room and buy a good one. And I gotta say, all the colourful socks and underwear made me wish I were a guy for just a minute.

I’m going to keep this review brief… (Oh this is going to be oh so full of puns!) This store is fantastic! But I’m getting a-​head of my self (there, I did it again!) Ok, ok, seriously, this boys boutique has 2 things, drawers & socks — oh, and fancy shaving things that look like Leo himself in the Great Gatsby would use them! Now back to the drawers; these are the coolest, sexiest, chicest skivvies I have ever encountered! They have skulls, and legos, and Godzilla (ha! That should be a warning of what’s to cum… er, come!) Many have graphic prints, bright colours, Euro chic artistry, I saw one with a holstered gun printed on it (you know I’m dying to put a joke in there) guitars, monkeys (dear lord, I’m trying to keep it clean!) and of course, moustaches (nope, not a word, not touching that one… verbally at least! Ha) And if you think the underoos sound cool, they have socks with astronauts, antlers and aliens even bacon! And that’s just words that start with A & B! Just sayin’.
The gentleman that owns the store is super great and fun to talk to. I really applaud opening such a novel shop. I can only imagine how fun it would be to try a bunch of these on (and take ‘em off!) Ok, I think I’m cut off from writing. Next time you need a fantastic gift for your brother, your bro, your mate or your man, I highly recommend stopping in. And ladies, if you’re like me; you may want to pick up a sweet set of knickers to proudly prance around in yourself — sans beguiling bulge.

This place was a definite addition to any man’s (or woman shopping for her man) shopping list. They have tons of men’s briefs. But also a complete selection of Merkur razors. The owner was there and seemed to know his product well.

If you are a guy and into sexy lingerie (or whatever the equivalent terminology is for such undergarments), The Briefing Room is definitely the place to head. The place is packed with brief, boxers, boxer-​briefs, thongs, pajamas, and a host of other items, including man-​purses! Murses?
Anyways, the selection of styles here is incredible, ranging from basic to daring. Service is very friendly and prices vary, including some excellent sales. After browsing around for a while, I noticed the average price for a pair of underwear was around $ 25, which is quite reasonable.
From a female point of view, I loved looking at the different styles and would consider it a place to buy a gift for a male friend (well, it would have to be a special male friend). Or, better yet, a place to browse with a guy friend. A very unique and inviting boutique!
