I received a gorgeous box of these chocolates for Valentine’s day. They are beautifully handcrafted and locally made. The chocolate is of the highest quality and the flavour combinations are truly creative. 2 chocolate bars: ‘Salt & Vinegar Chip’, ‘Rose Mint’. Chocolate hearts: ‘Candied Rose & Lychee’, ‘Strawberry Cheesecake’, ‘White Chocolate Passion Fruit’, ‘Dark Chocolate Cherry’, ‘Chocolate Champagne’, ‘Chocolate coffee’. Very pleased to endorse a local business & artisan.

I’m a huge fan of The Violet Chocolate Company for so many reasons!
I discovered them in The Wish List Gifts as they had a great display right at the till with a ton of Violet Chocolate flavours. At $ 5 each for their bars, you can’t go wrong with picking up a few of their fun flavours to try. My favourite was Raspberry Pepper Lime as I love anything fruity and a little spicy! I also picked up Carrot Cake and Honey Rosemary for the Hubba Hubby, which he loved. I definitely want to try all of the flavours as some of them are extremely creative.
Congratulations to The Violet Chocolate Company on so many awards too! So many of the chocolates are nationally and internationally recognized, which is exciting for anyone but especially this local company.
I know Violet has more than just the bars, including truffles and more (also in great fun packaging). I’d love to have a girl’s night and go for a class as well to learn more and… try all the things!
Bonus — The Violet Chocolate Company also partners with local charities (currently YESS) for Charity Bars as well, bringing awareness (and good chocolate) for local causes!

I have been a fan of the Violet Chocolate Company for years. They specialize in bars of chocolate that come in really fantastic flavours like carrot cake, honey rosemary, berry fizz, lemon meringue pie, strawberry basil, and a ton of others. My favourite bar is the Maple Pecan & Blueberry! Those 3 flavours together are so, so yummy! They also do truffles, and seasonal bars, like gingersnap, at Christmas — and pumpkin spice for Thanksgiving.
All of the chocolates are made in a strict Gluten Free environment, so they are a safe gift to give for anyone with Celiacs. In fact, they make a fabulous stocking stuffer, Valentines gift, pick-​me-​up present, and on and on… Also, because they are 100% Edmontonian, they also make a wonderful (and delicious) addition to a «Welcome» basket for visitors. As well, I know that these chocolates have won a ton of prestigious national awards!
It used to be a bit of a struggle to find Violet CC (outside of the City farmers market) but now they are in a bunch of locally owned boutiques like Lyndale Accents, Harlow High Street, The Wish List Gifts, etc. As well as all of the Evoolution stores in Alberta (and those are popping up everywhere! I just found one in Canmore!!) as well as a few coffee shops, the 3 Swish Flower locations, and so on.

Delicious hand made chocolate! You’ve probably seen these chocolates around town at the local farmer’s markets, or at Evoolution!
This is my second favourite local chocolate shop in YEG. She makes amazing small chocolate bars, my favourite being vanilla passion fruit or caramel pecan. While I’ve never tried the Honey Rosemary bar, it did win National and International Awards! So that’s pretty impressive.
She does really neat chocolates for different holidays. Right now she has cute little bunny rabbits and hollow eggs filled with chocolates.
