Unfortunately the service wasn’t the best, (unfriendly) the food was cold, the chicken was really cheap and the sauces were bland. I’ve never had terribly ski chicken where the teriyaki was tasteless. No wasabi and small portions just made is a very I enjoyable experience. I really wasn’t impressed.

Tokyo Express thank you for existing in West Edmonton Mall because I don’t have to eat a lousy burger or soggy fries from one of the many burgers and fries establishment in the food court.
I would take a Maki roll or a bento box any day of the week over the golden arches.

I’m not a huge Tokyo Express fan BUT so glad to have this as an option in the food court over fried food.
Both my kids love the teriyaki beef over rice. I often order a Double Teriyaki Beef and then divide into two bowls — about $ 10 and the perfect amount for both my kiddos.
The Maki is okay but this location is busy and doesn’t offer what all the other locations outside of the mall offer (understandably).
We will most definitely be back…

Clearly this isn’t my favourite fast food sushi location. But when it comes to food court sushi, this particular storefront does a decent job. Not only does this location carry a few items that some of the other larger Tokyo Express locations don’t carry but they’re often pretty efficient at providing that which you’ve ordered.
I tend to like to stop at a food court when I visit West Edmonton Mall even if just for a snack or another treat, and this location often fits the bill and is less overwhelming with options than a visit to some of the other sushi options in the mall. Even if they’re not amazingly fancy or out of the ordinary, they are very consistent with what they provide.

Not one of my favorite Tokyo Express places in the city. The last time I went I waited for my food for over 20 minutes. The line up was long and maybe they were understaffed. The food quality was not what I am used to from the other various locations across the city. I was a bit disappointed.

We came on a Saturday evening just before 8 and the restaurant wasn’t very busy. There was no line up but we had to wait a short time for our order to be taken. Since we were getting take out, we sat in the waiting area for our order. The rice bowl was ok except for some chewy meat. The bento box was decent for the amount of food and there was a lot of beef with the rice.
This isn’t the best place for sushi, rice bowl, or bento boxes but they do have a big menu to chose from and there are numerous locations that are easily accessible if you are in the mood for their food.

Just ate at the WEM location. I had teriyaki beef bowl. Totally substandard
The beef was dry and gray, minimal vegetables and sauce. I recommend going to another location where they treat you right!

If I could give a negative star or ‘stay away’ star I would… Seafood in a food court at an Alberta mall is to be avoided at all costs! if you want the greasy fried or oily stuff then you may enjoy this place. If you are expecting fresh, tasty light sashimi, turn away. no seriously, try another joint. I ordered sashimi with a green salad, thinking this’ll be a nice light lunch. Instead I recieved a couple large hunks of frozen, fishy tasting tuna and a bowl of oil fried sprouts with greasy seaweed n shredded carrots on top. good Sashimi does not smell or taste fishy. this was not good by any means. I was left hungry and upset, so I filled up on green tea and went on my way.

If you haven’t tried Japanese food yet, this is the place you should check in! Tokyo express has an extensive menu, from Tempura to Rice Bowls to Teppan Noodles to Sushi. Go when it is most busy, which is noon. That’s when they grill up a new batch of chicken for their Chicken Teriyaki bowls. The cashier’s eager to take your orders, and the place is amazingly clean!
