Established in 2008.

The Hearing Specialists is a locally owned and operated hearing clinic. Dr. Kim McCarthy, Au. D, along with Jenna Waterhouse MSc Aud© and their dedicated staff offer the best in hearing health care.

Kim has acquired a diverse background in the hearing industry. She has spent time working in a hospital setting, private practice and for two major hearing aid manufacturers. Kim spent many years traveling around the world learning about the latest in hearing aid technology and hearing science and training Audiologists all over Canada.

Jenna Waterhouse is a Certified Audiologist who graduated from Dalhousie University with her Master’s of Science in Audiology and prior to this received a bachelor’s degree with honours in Biochemistry Nutrition from Memorial University. Jenna is CASLPA certified and a member of CASLPA and Sounds+.

Dr. Kim McCarthy M. Sc, Au. D.

Kim McCarthy graduated with her Masters of Science in Audiology from Dalhousie University in 1997 and completed her Doctoral degree in Audiology from Salus University in October 2008. Kim is a CASLPA certified audiologist and is a member of CASLPA, SHANS and Sounds+. Her years of experience working in a hospital setting, in a private practice and for two major international hearing aid manufacturers has resulted in a superior level of knowledge on a number of topics, particularly amplification. Kim now lives in Cow Bay with her husband and 2 children, and is excited at the prospect of being home with her family after spending years traveling to learn about and train others on new and exciting products. «Although being at the forefront of new technology is exciting, you miss out on the direct patient contact. I enoy learning about my patients’ lives, their needs, and helping them not only hear better but live better.»
