H&R Block

I came to this HR block a couple of weeks ago because it was a step up from the terrible one at runnymede and st Clair. Luckily it was fairly slow in there and somebody was able to see me within the first 10 minutes of arriving. Upon speaking with the guy who would be handling my taxes, he never asked me any questions he just sat there and clicked on his computer for 20 minutes and told me I would be getting back $ 198, just short $ 2 of instant cash back. Also if it’s above 200 $ they take their fee out of your return, so I found it suspicious. I left because I did not agree this was accurate, how could it possibly be accurate if he knows nothing about me? All he had was my t4 forms, and didn’t say a word to me after that! After all this, I ended up getting my taxes done elsewhere and it turns out I was supposed to get $ 987 back. So I’m not sure what kind of game he was trying to play but I warn everyone to be careful!

Horrible service. I’ve been to other H&R Blocks and had a decent experience but this was just bad.
I had a woman who told me that I would be getting $ 2,200 back. Then she said: «Whoops! I shouldn’t have said that, you’re getting $ 589!» WTF?! Seriously? Then say nothing until you’ve figured it out! I asked for a cheque as I always do — I don’t want a debit or MasterCard, and I’m informed that I have to come back for it tomorrow and its a new policy! OK… I inform them that I have to work and I need it ready for me to pick up so I can go straight to work. They assure me it will be waiting for me in the morning. When I come in the following morning, not only is it NOT ready, it’s not even printed?! AND the receptionist proceeds to inform me that they have been having printing problems all day and she’s not been trained properly to fix them. GREAT. I waited HALF AN HOUR! I ended up running late for work! On top of it, when I was leaving they had the nerve to ask me to stay and wait for them to print me out a confirmation!!! After I had said I’m running late for work because of them! NEVER, EVER, again. STAY AWAY from this location. They don’t care and are completely incompetent. In fact, stay away from H&R Block entirely. I’m going to go elsewhere next year. Too bad there isn’t zero as a review option.
