It may look nicer inside and they may have fresh juice — but the staff will run this place into the ground. I was there last week to get a coffee and decided to grab a danish. It took over 10 minutes just to order. Then they gave me a croissant instead of a danish so I brought it back to that cash. The cashier chastised me for having touched the croissant with my hands because now they had to throw it out — as if it was somehow my fault. Then another girl asked what I wanted and I told her a danish. Then she got really rude to me and made a remark about not having originally taken my order anyway — which was irrelevant to getting the danish or to any part of the conversation. She was rude to a point that the lady behind me also spoke up. I decided to give them another try today. I was served by a young man with his underwear hanging out the back(belt, anyone?) and a young lady — after standing at the counter for awhile as everyone ignored me to chat. My sandwich was disgusting. It was literally 2⁄3 goat cheese, 1⁄3 veggies — and the kids grilled cheese gets 1 slice of cheese. It’s tasteless and not worth what you pay. I’d say unless you just want to grab a coffee, avoid this place. Go to Ma Maison across the street or Patricia’s down the road — not here.

Hurray! It’s under new ownership! The place is so much cleaner and it looks amazing! There are many new items, including fresh juice. Staff is a bit slow but that’s part of the growing pains. Definitely try this place!!!

The only good thing that remains about Java Joe’s is the sweet, sweet memories of what it once was. Now Java Joe’s has fallen to the darkness of ill-prepared staff who seem to forget who they are amidst figuring out how to make a toasted bagel. Since the new management has taken over and desecrated the beauty of the old Java Joe’s, they have never served me in a timely manor or given me the correct order. I ask for a cream cheese bagel with Lox and they literally just go blank and forget what Lox is and then burn my bagel. Java Joe’s, we once had something special but now? It’s over. *Update: They started making really tiny bagels for a while but now they’re going back to regular sized bagels! They may not have much going for them but their cream cheese bagels with lox are getting better!
