We came for a Saturday lunch at opening 11:30am to Scozia, the Italian restaurant inside. The 7 of us were firs to arrive. The service was so slow regardless of us being the only guests inside the restaurant! It took about 30 minutes for coffees to come out, the espresso was not good at all and came cold. Very disappointed. We then ordered a variety of items from all 3 sections of the menu and absolutely everything was unappetizing. Even the kids menu pasta was awful. The pizza was hard and not tasty at all, calamari was too oily and did not have enough seasoning. The chef’s charcuterie plate was generous, but the meat choices were not very good and we had to ask for bread or crispers to be brought with it twice before they finally brought them out. The salads were ok, but underwhelming. $ 180 later and 2 hours to get served in its entirety all we wanted to do was just leave. Even the water didn’t taste good, tap water that is!!! Very disappointed, would not come back here again. Perhaps they should consider switching to a simple brunch menu for weekends, but I’d still be hesitant to try it. It’s clear that the chef and kitchen staff do not taste the food they put out. The serving staff were nice but slow. I felt bad to tell her that the food was awful when she asked because she was nice.

We tried to have dinner at their Italian restaurant, Scozia. We made a reservation for 11 family members to celebrate my son’s first communion. We arrived at the time arranged and there was no one there. We waited a couple of minutes until someone noticed we were there. The waitress then proceeded to argue with me about the reservation. She said the reservation was for Saturday. I told her that today is Saturday! Our«waitress» was incredibly rude and impatient. We were waiting for a few other people. After placing our order and dealing with the waitress I decided we were going to leave. The waitress was shocked and wanted to know why. I told her that she was one of the worst waitresses I have ever dealt with! She proceeded to explain that she was not feeling well and had diarrhea(!?) Do yourself a favor and don’t go to Scozia

The inn itself is amazing. Rooms are unique and exceptionally kept. Service is also excellent. You will not be disappointed if you stay here. The dining room is also excellent. We have eaten there a few times and the lunches and dinners are prepared using local produce, and the meats are tender and well cooked to order. A wonderful selection of wines, and the server is always available to assist with wine selection. You will be well catered to at this restaurant.

We went in for dinner a few weeks back. The food was excellent. We had the pulled duck poutine and chicken wings. The poutine was fantastic, I’ve never seen a pulled duck poutine before so I was a little skeptical at first, however it was great. The chicken wings were a decent size and well prepared. My only complaint is that if your going to put on the menu that your suicide sauce is made with ghost peppers, at least make the shit hot. It was barely hot at all, very disapointing. The service was good.

Okay… being as I live local I thought I would give it another chance… BIGMISTAKE ! Four couples where in my party we arrived at 330pm on a Tuesday… we were about the only people in there other than the bar rats at the front. Long story short … every couple had thier food brought to the table cold … this complimented my FLAT Richards White. My Question to the management is, How can food service become this bad from what it was in the past? which I would have rated 5 stars !!! I will never waste one dollar more in this establishment which is sad. To those looking for GOOD pub fare … go to the BREWHOUSE just down the road.

Not bad at all. The Bistro has a great choice of high end pub fare. Garnished nicely with a fun atmosphere. I do recommend. great spot to just go for a laid back drink and talk. check out more of my work at: |
