Great little restaurant with an awesome menu! The menu is full of variety so you can choose exotic items or basic ones. 3 of us were there for lunch and we all were impressed with the quality of the food and the service. I highly recommend this place!

We’ve been there three times. There coffee and croissants/baked goods are great, no complaints. And the price is reasonable. However, on the last time we decided to have lunch there. I ordered quinoa salad, and my husband had dumplings. Salad was cold, I’ve asked it to be warmed up. They don’t have microwave. When I suggested to put the bowl of salad in another bowl of hot water they refused to do it. They said they’d take out 10 minutes earlier out of the fridge so that it could reach room temperature. Of course it wouldn’t in 10 minutes. Anyway, this refusal to warm up food really ticked me off(I had a cold and it was unpleasant to eat cold food). The salad itself lacked any creativity. There was not enough salt(and trust me, I am not big on salt at all), and there was no vinaigrette that I could taste, so the salad was bland, cold and just wouldn’t come together, all the tasted stood by themselves. My husband’s dumplings were equally unimpressive. Very little meat, mostly falling apart dough and too much rice on the plate. Well, at least they were warm… The atmosphere is very nice, the staff is generally friendly(except this girl that couldn’t warm up the food and was not trying to solve my problem). Coffee and croissant are consistently good. I like their magazines, posters and activities for kids. So if you are a good cook(like my hubby and I) exercise some caution with ordering food, but stopping for a little coffee break is great.

This is a great spot! We stopped in for lunch with our 8 year old, had fun playing board games and chatting with the owner while we waited, and the food was delicious! Lots of different things on the menu to choose from, and a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Definitely would go again.

If this place was in Toronto — 3 stars. But out here in a wasteland of Fish & Chips, this café scores higher. It’s closer to a resto than café, but now we’re just arguing semantics. Atmosphere is cozy. Mish mash of chairs, couches, and wooden tables. Service was attentive. If you opt for the African stew, order rice for $ 2 extra. Oh and cash or debit only.
Visiting The Bicycle Café was like a game of ‘I spy’. There are oodles of stuff to look at while waiting for your order to be served and I spotted many items that suggested connections. Many musical connections and culinary ones too. The area has a rich folk music culture with fiddle music and Canadiana in general. The look of the restaurant is an updated vintage look with incredibly huge picture windows looking out over Highway 10 as it slowed for a dip thru this quaint and picturesque town. Exposed brick along one side and an open kitchen down the other side with tables in the middle and at the front. In the back is a stage with bar that looks very well used and has an upright piano sitting at the side. The menu softens you up with a ‘good food takes time’ spiel and suggested that you play a game of monopoly while you wait. After a reasonable time our food was cheerfully served and was magnificent! Obviously made with care and attention to detail, we tried the African bean soup/stew as well as the chicken dumpling soup. Both amazingly good! The coffee on offer was Ideal(yay!) but they didn’t know exactly how to make a cappuccino, suggesting that a latte would be preferable. A perfect place to go enroute to cottage country. Excellent!
