I have to start by saying I am a vegetarian so I’m obviously not reviewing anything most people going to a steakhouse are probably interested in. I apologise for this mostly pointless entry. I got the soup of the day(tomato cream) which was pretty good! Maybe a bit too heavy on the cream. I also got spinach salad which was meh. The orange dressing is sickeningly sweet and fake tasting, like the orange jello cups you eat as a kid but worse because it’s not jello and it’s supposed to go with salad. There as a huge amount of spinach(more than a bag I swear) which is fine but totally disproportionate to the amount of everything else. The candied pecans seemed to just be regular pecans to me. The only other thing I ate — the bread rolls — were pretty tasty. In conclusion, vegetarians should probably not go to steakhouses but if you are thinking of ordering the salad I would advise against it. Go for soup or bread. Steak is an option too I guess lol(I heard it was good)

The greens were great, the baked potato was tasty. The steak on the other hand was forgettable. The beans were better than the steak in my opinion.

This is a review I will not enjoy writing. We have been to the sawmill here at least 4 times and I gave them a 4.5 to 5 star review. Awesome meal awesome service. Manger was at Our table ensuring all was ok and it was. Tonight was totally different food cold, service was inexperienced, manager was unprofessional. When the old manager left did he take the chef as well.

Great food, atmosphere and service. Prices are a little pricey but it pays off!

We have ate at this Sawmill many times and while service isn’t always consistent, we feel this is one of the better places to eat in Fort Saskatchewan. We love wing night; can’t beat a pound of wings for $ 3.75 or whatever it is. I often order the taco salad and it’s fantastic. There have been a couple of times where they were a bit chinsy with the taco meat but other than that, no complaints. The service in the lounge is hit and miss. We’ve had one server now a few times and it only took us one time of leaving no tip for her effort to drastically improve the next time she served us. Our servers are not just handed 20% at the end of the meal; we want service and it requires more than taking an order and bringing the bill at the end. We will continue to eat here on a regular basis. If management reads this, just follow up and make sure your servers are giving at least 95%, 100% of the time.

Had dinner at the Sawmill last night must say that I was a little disappointed … Firstly I had a Caesar Salad which contained a large chunk of the core … I mean like at least a 2 inch squared piece. We sat in the back which was very nice … And if you were bored you could write your name in the dust on the ledge. The window in the back was also very dirty with hand and finger prints. It concerns me if this is what the dining room of your restaurant looks like what does the kitchen look like.

Always been a fan of the Sawmill in Edmonton Gateway location and the Moose Factory. Since the Sawmill opened in Fort Saskatchewan, I am not only thrilled that it is so close to home, the food and service is consistently outstanding. My family and I will always come back for special occasions or simply for a great meal. The new items added to the menu is a smart touch!
