Chinese restaurant’s licence suspended Fredericton Daily Gleaner April 15, 2014 The 777 Triple Seven Chinese Restaurant on Main Street in Fredericton has had its operating licence revoked by the health department for the second time in two years for failing an inspection. The business, which opened in 2012, was given a red flag on the Heath Department restaurant website based on an April 14 inspection, which found nine major violations, eight critical violations and three minor violation. It previously had its operating licence suspended in September 2012. «All potentially hazardous foods shall be stored at or below 4 degrees C,» stated the latest health inspection report. «Meat was found at 12 degrees C. The meat was discarded.» The health inspector’s report also found: food was not properly stored to prevent cross-contamination; a chef tested food temperatures with his or her finger, which risked contamination; a chef used hands to transfer food; staff did not wash their hands during the inspection; and an employee used an old pair of plastic gloves. The report also states there were problems with refrigeration, food was stored near a grease trap, there was dry storage on a wet floor, advanced food preparation was not kept to a minimum, floors, wall and shelves needed cleaning, and staff was not properly knowledgeable about food-handling procedures. The report says the restaurant must be re-inspected at a date to be determined. The Daily Gleaner called the restaurant Monday and requested a comment, but was told no one was available to make a statement. According to the Health Department, the frequency of inspections at food premises is determined by public health inspectors who use established risk-based criteria. The criteria include types of food served, handling methods, history of compliance and establishment management. Inspection results are updated regularly and represent the conditions found at the date and time of the inspection.

Place rating: 1 Fredericton, Canada
We ate here shortly after it opened — my first, last and only visit I will ever make to this place. Only restaurant around Fredericton with worse food is the diplomat. the food at 777 was bland, warm at best and almost tasted the like the cardboard box I imagine it came in. as for the atmosphere, yeah — it’s dated. nice staff and good service, I don’t care about the interior so much but the food is sub par, there are many better restaurants in Fredericton who do so much better for the same prices. Smaller portions and higher quality ingredients may help this place but it’s doubtful that will happen… I definitely recommend you give this place a pass by, do not stop in, save yourself the disappointment and money.
