History
Established in 2013.
The company (Sports Unlimited) has been around since 1971 when Pat Maloney bought the business from his parents. He took over the 12,500 square foot facility in Brampton before the advent of the 1990’s brought the «Big Box» stores to town and forced Pat to move to a smaller more customer service/specialty oriented location in 1996.
Since 1996 Sports Unlimited has been serving Brampton and the surrounding area and putting customer service above everything else.
In 2004 Pat’s long time friend Mark Coates and his family purchased a franchise from Pat and opened up a location in Georgetown to further grow the Sports Unlimited name and bring an established, family friendly sporting goods store to the Halton Region.
In July 2013 the Coates family decided to sell the main location and focus on the Satellite Pro Shop in the new Georgetown arena. Pat Maloney and his son Aidan purchased the Georgetown location from the Coates family which Aidan now operates after 11 years in Brampton.
