Finlayson Goldsmiths is a father-​daughter team made up of Designer Lesley and Master Goldsmith Ian.

Every piece we design and make is individually produced with care and craftsmanship in platinum, 18K gold or silver.

Besides creating one-​of-​a-​kind rings, pendants and earrings, we also love redesigning heirloom jewellery — the ultimate in recycling.

Our on-​site workshop also handles repairs promptly and expertly.

History

Established in 1992.

Ian is a master goldsmith with forty years of experience in the making of fine jewellery. He received the best training available in a demanding and ancient craft. During a four year apprenticeship under renowned Swiss jeweller Toni Cavelti Ian learned the art of hand fabricating jewellery using traditional European techniques.

After completing his apprenticeship in Cavelti’s shop, Ian spent the next fifteen years working under talented designers Alois and Thérèse Lander. The team at Lander Design supplied exquisite handmade pieces to Swedish Jeweler of Vancouver. Ian and Claire designed many unique pieces for the Susan Clark Gallery of Gem Art.

Ian is grateful for the wonderful training he received from his two mentors, Alois Lander and Toni Cavelti.

Lesley has been working in the family business since 2009. She has a diamond grading certificate from the Canadian Institute of Gemmology and has completed a design course at the Revere Academy of Jewellery Arts in San Francisco.
