Good fresh fish, but pieces of fish are pretty small in the rolls. To get a reasonable amount of fish, order the sashimi — it was delicious. There is definitely a lot of rice and fillings in the rolls and some items are really greasy(but tasty!). Not the best sushi in Ottawa, but respectable. Fast service and courteous witnesses. Kid friendly.

Not sure what people are complaining about, this place is awesome! Fish was extremely fresh, service was on-point and the value for your money is very much worth it. Teriyaki fish and chicken are a MUST. Would come back again. Just make sure you come on an empty stomach

After going multiple times I can confirm this is my favourite AYCE sushi place in the Capital region. Delivers consistent experience and amazing quality and value. Next time you are around this side of town for a movie at the Silver City theatre make sure you plan a sushi dinner here too!

Food was good but service was horrible. The server made 6 mistakes in a visit and she didn’t apologize. The cook made the wrong order as well while it was not so busy. The decoration is decent though.

the worst dinner experience ever and will never come back again. The servers are rude. They just have a few items in their menu and there are a lot of much better places to go for sushi. They don’t accept debit, only credit and cash. Besides, I choose«useful» for all negative reviews. It sucks!

They have all you can eat sushi and they get upset if you eat too much. «Too much»? Maybe they should discountinue all you can eat! The guy who is supposedly a manager came to our table of 7 to say we ordered too much and that he would charge us if we left anything. We were ordering in small batches. Not like a million pieces upfront… anyway. No excuses. This would have been ok if it was a friendly reminder of their policy. It was a threat. Yes we know the rules but how about you let us enjoy the food and we will pay what we have to pay. He wanted to reduce our order and got into an argument about the way things are listed on the menu. Paid. Left. Never again.

One of the worst All you can eat places in town. The service is excellent but the slices of fish on the sushi are paper thin. Even the hand rolls are filled with 99.99 percent rice with a couple tiny pieces of fish sprinkled on the top. Unless you like all you can eat rice, don’t bother coming here.

Sashimi is okay but unfortunately it doesn’t have the surf calm – one of my favorite There r many kinds of sushi, udon appetizer We went there on Sunday so it’s a little expensive than usual Actually the buffet is okay enough but not amazing

I’ve been to this place a few times and it can be hit or miss. I went this past Thursday and the food was fresh! We ordered a wide variety off the menu(sashimi, maki rolls, soups, noodles, terriyaki, and tempura). My group of 7 were more than satisfied and full. We go here periodically and always write down an extra copy f our order to ensure we get everything we asked. We’ve had inconsistencies in the past, but otherwise this is a great place.

Food was delicious and the fish was fresh. The rolls were meaty and the best we have had at an AYCE sushi restaurant in Ottawa. Dinner is $ 22.99 but we ordered a lot of sashimi and easily got our moneys worth. The service wasn’t the best but I am giving them 5 stars based on food and not service. The place is nice and clean.

Good food, but not head and shoulders above the rest. The servers were friendly but brought our dishes out one at a time, sometimes forgetting some items.

Having lived in Japan for three years, and loving the sushi and sashimi there, I am very particular about the Japanese food that I eat here in Canada. Fuji Sushi provides one of the best authentic Japanese meals that you can find in the nation’s capital and at a very reasonable price too! Ordering off a menu, your selection is prepared fresh in the kitchen and delivered to your table. Want more? Simply order it! The concept is well executed and because it is, food doesn’t sit out, or get picked over(à la buffet style), and is hot and delicious when presented at your table. We had a lovely sampling of a number if dishes(rice, miso, tempura, sushi, sashimi, salad, teriyaki, udon, etc.) and each reinforced my thought of the authentic experience. It was a wonderful meal surrounded by true Japanese décor, right down to the tsuru and manneki nekko! The only thing missing was the tatami! All in all, Fuji Sushi is definitely THE place to go when you want the real deal and not a Canadian-style fusion maki. It’s tops on my list. Cannot wait to go again!

I went here recently with one of my girlfriends for lunch. Lunch is $ 13.99 Mon-Thu and $ 14.99 Fri-Sun for adults(Dinner is $ 22.99), so pretty much the same price as other«All you can eat» sushi buffets. This place is not bad, but I find the lunch menu has less variety than other places like Sushi 168. For example, at Fuji Sushi, the maki rolls available are the«regular rolls» i.e. California, Shrimp Tempura, Avocado, etc. They do not have Spider Rolls on their lunch menu(Spider Rolls are my favourite) or other«Specialty Rolls». The maki were also lacking in meatiness and abundant in filler. The spicy crab roll was mostly tempura bits(it was like: dude, where’s my crab?), and the tempura shrimp roll was mostly tempura batter(the shrimp used was tiny). Their cloying love of tempura was reminiscent of Hokkaido Sushi on Dalhousie(which also only got 3 stars from me). Although the shrimp used were small, they weren’t «shrimpy» smelling or otherwise bad, they were just, well, small. The Sushi Pizza was really greasy and had too much«sauce.» I also had the dumpling soba soup. The soup was just that, dumplings, noodles and broth, nothing more, nothing less. Not even a sliver of vegetable or a slice of mushroom, so it was kind of plain. Furthermore, the dumplings(there were 2) were deep fried before being put in the broth. I prefer my dumplings boiled when they are in soup, but that may just be my preference. The soba is also not made of buckwheat. The«soba» is just thinner udon. Broth was unremarkable. The General Tao chicken was my favourite dish of the whole meal. Nice meaty chunks of crispy chicken in a sweet yet tangy sauce. It was delicious! Shrimp Pad Thai was a flop. The shrimp were tiny — I’m talking size 61/70, maybe some were 51/60, but they were really small! The sauce was overly sweet and the noodles were oily. It was the worst dish of the whole meal. Tempura Squid was good. They were calamari rings, not creepy tentacles. Nice and soft too, not chewy like a rubber band. «Cheese Butterflies» were weird. They were deep fried wontons stuffed with cream cheese and something orange. It tasted a little sweet(I think there was honey somewhere in there) and overall unusual. I wanted to try it because lots of reviewers(on other sites) seem to like it. I can’t say that I agree with them. Enoki Beef Rolls were not on their lunch menu :( Soft drinks are also not included in the buffet(I think it was $ 1.75 extra). Service was great. I wrote«no sesame seeds» on the order form and mentioned this to the server and nothing that came to our table had sesame seeds in it. Hurray! We also had our waters re-filled automatically. They cleared our table in a timely fashion. And we got everything we ordered(actually we got more than we ordered, as we ordered 4 pieces of sushi pizza and we got 6 pieces). The servers smiled and were polite. I don’t ask for much more at an AYCE restaurant. Lots of free parking available, as it’s in the same plaza as a movie theatre and retail shops. So in the end I was full, but I wasn’t really satisfied because the only really yummy thing was the General Tao Chicken. If you have been to Hokkaido Sushi on Dalhousie, I would say this place is comparable. However, I think in the future, I will stick to Sushi 168 or Sawa Sushi. I may give Fuji Sushi another try if I get a coupon or something.

For the record, I’m not really a big fan of AYCE sushi. I just don’t have the stomach capacity to ever justify paying the $ 20+. But since Ottawa is crawling with AYCE sushi places, I guess it’s inevitable that I would have to go to one at least once in a blue moon. Thursday was such an instance. It was during dinnertime, and the place was only half full. It’s your typical sushi restaurant, atmosphere-wise, except maybe for the unexpected abundance of paper cranes. They look nice though. We were seated right away and given our menus(the AYCE menu, but note that you can ask for the regular menu as well). We ordered a lot and thankfully, we finished them all. The sushi is okay for AYCE, but I don’t think it’s not the best AYCE I’ve tasted in Ottawa(Hokkaido I think is a little better). We ordered a lot of sashimi — which was also okay(salmon, white tuna, snapper). I think I ate enough of the salmon and white tuna to get my money’s worth. Well, I tried anyway. The tempura was alright, not too greasy. Service was prompt, even though our server forgot to bring some of our orders in. Overall, nothing too spectacular, but I guess somewhere to go if you’re ever in the area.

In the last few years the«all you can eat» Sushi restaurants have popped up in Ottawa, and Fuji Sushi is one of the best. It’s not a buffet where the food sits out for long periods of time. You order off the menu and they prepare it fresh and bring it to your table. When you’re full you stop ordering… good system :) Not just for sushi lovers, they also prepare and deliver to your table a selection of Thai food, and various cooked dishes such as Teriyaki beef & chicken. Everything we had was delicious and the tempura shrimp is especially good.
