What is it with the food court in the New Sudbury Centre? The mall itself is adequate with pretty much all the same stores you see elsewhere, but the food court, meh. I’ve been to three different ‘restaurants’ in it, and all three times they’ve completely blown it. Every food stand in here is a pathetic second rate version of the ones you’ll see in the Eaton Centre or Masonville Mall.
I went with the poutine, dog and drink combo which cost me nearly 11 bucks. The cashier didn’t seem to have a whole lot going on upstairs. When I asked if it’s real poutine, he didn’t know what I was talking about. (PROTIP, real poutine is made with cheese curds)
So then I asked about the frequent buyers card, where you get 7 orders, the 8^th one is free. He didn’t know about those at first, he thought I was talking about my credit or debit card.
Finally, I asked about a refill on my drink. No refills. None at all. I always got them at both the White Oaks Mall and the Masonville Store, recently it was scaled down to just one, but that’s acceptable. But none? You can forget seeing me ever again. If they want to save 1 cent in pop, to lose a $ 11 sale, then all the power to them.
