You never know what you’re going to find at the ReStore. I do a lot of random craft projects(or plan on doing them, anyway), and the ReStore is always my first stop. They have a lot of tools, flooring, random furniture, old doors, knobs, lighting supplies, and other odds and ends — with the proceeds going to a great cause. Some of the furniture can be a little pricey, but most of the time everything is very reasonably priced. I spend most of my time there wondering«what could I do with this?» instead of just picking up what’s practical, so it can be a fun experience just to go browse. If you’re planning on doing any remodeling, need a new couch, a few random chairs, or some hard hats for whatever you need hard hats for, make sure to check it out.

Flip! I wish I had known about this Habitat Restore when I was a lowly U of Guelph student. It’s loaded with sweet second hand goods. Kitchen appliances, computer chairs, retro kitchen dining sets, crappy vintage floral couches, CRT televisions, stereos, desk lamps, ironic scenic paintings and BLINDS. Every student needs real blinds instead of those see-through bedsheets that are a peeping tom’s dream-come-true. This place has all the furnishing you need to put together a student dwelling! If you’re doing renovations, they have supplies like surplus tiles, light fixtures, even unopened cans of paint and caulking. It’s a good deal, worth checking out and it all goes to a good cause. They also accept donations if you’re moving out and don’t have time to sell your furniture, etc.
