Service 5⁄5 Food 5⁄5 Location 4⁄5 The best shawarma in Guelph! We’ve been coming to Pita Hut since they opened — after months of being tormented by that giant«Coming Soon» sign with the massive 5-foot shawarma on the front. Torture. The good news is – Pita Hut didn’t disappoint! A small family owned restaurant, the space is located near the far end of the shopping plaza off Gordon. It’s a little out of the way, but it has ample parking and isn’t a hard location to get to. There are a few tables inside, but we usually grab our order to go. The interior is clean, well lit, and pretty inviting for your typical pita place. The staff is friendly and fast, and they make your meal in front of you through a glass screen(think Chipotle). The portion sizes are massive — I usually have to save half of it for the next day. At around $ 9-$ 13 for your meal, that’s not bad. We typically order the shwarma and falafel platters with hummus and rice. Your order also comes with Lebanese pita and all the toppings your can fit on your plate. We’ve found that the shawarma and falafel are better here than Manouche — although Manouche still has Pita Hut beat on the lentil soup. Still, it’s enough to keep us coming back here whenever the cravings strike.

I have been waiting so long for a shawarma place to open in Guelph — no more drives to Kitchener or Cambridge for my shawarma fix! My sisters and I ordered chicken shawarma wraps, a falafel wrap, fries and baklava. I wasn’t crazy about the baklava, but the fries were hand-cut and perfectly fried, and wraps were fresh, flavourful and delicious. I wait patiently for beef shawarma to be added to the menu(maybe wishful thinking). The server was really friendly and gave me two stamps on the loyalty card since it was my first time there. I REALLY hope Pita Hut is here to stay.
