This Motel doesn’t look like much from the outside, but the room was tidy and pleasant to look at(they seem to have fixed the pillow issue, I had about 5 on my bed). There seemed to be a shortage of outlets — a fridge and microwave next to the desk meant that the lamp was unplugged, and there was nowhere for me to plug my laptop. I unplugged the microwave to plug it in. Anyhow everything seemed ok(and so cheap!) until night fell and I tried to sleep. The noise! I wondered if I was on top of a boiler room or something, with all of the whooshing and humming. The fridge would come on with a roar as well. A couple of times, I got up to look out the window, expecting to see a tractor-trailer idling outside, but no — there was no apparent explanation, just noise noise noise noise. After an early morning, a long drive, a full day at a conference, and knowing I’d go through it all again the next day, this was *not* what I needed!

Bring your own pillow. The sorry excuse they call a pillow here doesn’t even deserve the name. I could have folded up a pair of jeans and it would have been more comfortable to sleep on. The room I was in was drab, old, and in moderate to poor condition. The walls are thin. I could hear the people in the next room having sex quite clearly, then later they had a party that started around 3 am and went to about 9 am. Good times.
