All Things New Too You Consignment Store

When I was walking down Inglis Street, I saw a strange new sign next to the church by SMU. It told me that there was… gasp… a thrift store right next to SMU? I was all over that immediately and today, I popped in for a visit. The hours are 11 – 4 from Tuesday to Friday and 10 – 3 on Saturday.
The friendly proprietor let me know what the store had to offer (clothing for men, women, and kids, home décor, shoes, handbags, jewelry, shoes, a few books, and more) and chatted about their consignment program. She wasn’t pushy and didn’t hover, unlike many small thrift stores I’ve been to. There are three different rooms, plus a hallway, and there’s stuff everywhere but it doesn’t feel cluttered.
In particular, I really liked their selection. They had a lot of clothes I’d actually wear, and they had gorgeous jewelry and knickknacks. Not many books right now, but thanks to their consignment program, I’m going to change that soon. ;) The prices seemed reasonable enough. And hey, easy and free parking/​quick bus access.
Of course, this store is run out of a church so there seems to be a slightly Christian theme everywhere. I mention it because this might sway people’s decision on visiting, but it isn’t one of those kitschy religious thrift stores where all you can buy are floor-​length skirts and Bibles. Short-​shorts and drop-​dead cute skirts are still on offer!
I’m definitely coming back to buy, not just sell. I only wish it had been here when I was in residence at SMU… actually, never mind. If I had, I’d probably have been eating Mr. Noodles every day. Give this cute little place a chance!
