The place was ok, Internet was horrible, no one could connect to anyone of their 6 signals, the stairs are quite weathered but not quite in unforgivable condition, the front desk staff are quite disconnected with eachother in that they had mixed up our online and phone reservations but it was something we could sort out upon arrival. Breakfast was typical continental breakfast so there’s nothing to complain. Our room was ok and had cable, clean, ok,

One star is too many Not only is this place terrible they billed me via Travelocity for 2 nights AFTER agreeing to cancel my reservation. We arrived and reviewed the room. enroute to the room we noted rotting staircases and roofing in terrible shape. entering the room(or coffin depending on your view) the smell was overpowering the place was as dark as a cave. I attempted to open the curtains and discovered they were broken to the extent they were falling off the rod and just looped over the rod. We returned to the front desk and said we wouldn’t be staying. We then contacted Travelocity to get a refund and after 2 days of chasing and many calls they finally told travelocity they had already billed them for the hotel so Travelocity wasn’t in a position to give me a refund. So the hotel got paid for 2 night when we didnt stay at all. AND to top it off when we returned to the hotel to ‘inquire’ on how to get a refund they stated they have a policy ’ Do not give refunds to Travelocity purchases’ So given they have a policy i’m thinking this is a regular occurance. Complained to the Howard Johnson office and got a reply they were investigating. So shall see.
