They have changed to smaller bowls, increased the prices and are now skimping on ingredients. Disappointing.

Super fresh ingredients, staff have always been friendly and seem happy to be there, fast service even when they’re busy. I’m a big fan of their pulled pork burrito bowl and I highly recommend their cranberry salsa. So glad I tried Burrito Jax and now I can’t stay away.

I love Burrito Jax! I have never been disappointed in what I get, the service is great and the atmosphere is exactly what you would expect from a local chain trying to franchise out. The only thing I’ve realized after going there several times is they don’t give enough of the essentials to call what they serve a burrito. They put a little cup of cheese, a little cup of whole beans, a spoonful of re-fried beans, a spoonful of sweet potato and a bag load of lettuce. If I were to give them a tip it would be to double up on the beans and slow down on the lettuce(save some for the rabbits.) The freshness of their sweet potatoes and guacamole saddens me. They use guac from a bag, which you can taste is very similar to the one they use at Subway and their sweet potatoes are the same. Use slightly fresher local ingredients and less lettuce and WHAM you got it! It won’t stop me from going there, because it probably is close to the best burrito in town, but that’s just my thoughts.

I work in downtown and always tell people to go to burrito jax and always hear amazing reviews from it. Now that there is one open in my neck of the woods I love it!!! I’ve been here 3 – 4 times already since it opened. The staff are amazing, even got to meet the owner who is also amazing. If your looking for amazing food, amazing atmosphere and good price then you need to try burrito jax. I will be back for sure.

I have been waiting for the location in Clayton Park to open for a while. I had visited their location on Kempt road a couple of times in the past but didn’t frequent it merely because it was out of the way for me. The staff at that location were amazing and food was top notch. When I walked In I was thinking to myself I hope they are the exact same as the Kempt Road Location. Good news they are and maybe better! When I got inside I was greeted by both staff they seemed very cheerful and friendly. I made my order and while they where making my burrito’s they asked what I wanted. I pointed to a few things and they asked why I wasn’t trying this or that. They recommended I try some new toppings and said how great they were. I took them up on their advice. While I was waiting for my food to cook. I noticed the staff seemed very happy and cheerful makes me feel good as a customer. When I took the food home and took a bite I was in heaven, all the tastes I remember from the Kempt road location quickly filled my mouth. The restaurant itself was very clean and tidy. It is a small set up for inside eating but it is mainly meant to be take out place with your customary small seating area. I will be returning many many times in the future, I think I have found my new it place in Clayton Park.

This was my fist visit to a Burrito Jax, and it was pretty disappointing. With Brewdebakers gone, the pickins for restaurants in Clayton Park is slimmer than ever. Unfortunately this place does not help fill the void. The restaurant(if you can call it that) is very tiny with a few tables for two. The menu is in two parts: the description of the food is on one wall. You stand with your back to the ordering counter to decide what you’ll be ordering. Then you turn around and read the board above the counter for the prices. Very strange setup. The young man taking my order suggested I try the Jax chicken but refused to tell me what that was, even though I asked him twice. I tried it anyway since it obviously is just chicken with some spices on it or something. I got a small burrito; Mike ordered a Jax chicken burrito bowl. Mike got his bowl right away; I was told my burrito would take five minutes(it took more than five). So I sat and watched Mike eat while waiting for my dinner. They should work on that whole timing thing. The burrito bowl was okay. Each ingredient is tucked into a separate corner, which struck us as odd. My burrito was okay, though they don’t so much as give you a plate(it came in a small paper bag). Needless to say, burrito ended up on the table. Despite being on a grill it wasn’t very warm. The hot sauce they use is just … hot. No flavour at all. I guess the price was alright, and the food was filling.

Great news for Clayton Parkers and others in the ‘hood. Burrito Jax recently opened up in the Sobeys /CanadianTire mall, just around the corner from(the old) Brewdebakers. I was really hoping they would come to the Park one day, and they did! A nice friendly guy in a bright green Burrito Jax shirt took my order at the till. I happily got a small burrito bowl for $ 7.25, which came with white rice, smashed beans, mashed sweet potato, guac, black beans, shredded lettuce, chopped tomato, green onion, grated marble cheddar, cranberry salsa and a white drizzle of burrito sauce. It tasted healthy and yummy, with so much freshness and flavour. And best of all, a small in Burrito Jax Land is the same as a large everywhere else! There are so many items to choose from. You can never go wrong with BJ!
