I work in the CIBC building and walk by this place almost on a daily basis as I head over to Scotia Square. It’s located right before you cross the pedway from CIBC to Scotia Square — prime location but they never seem to be busy. Which is too bad because everyone walking by is missing out — not only on delicious food but amazing customer service. I decided to stop today because I forgot my lunch at home. I may have to start forgetting it more often ;) I order the daily special which was a bruschetta chicken melt and I got a side garden salad with it. A nice fresh sandwich and salad that filled me up — all for under $ 9! That is just unheard of! The customer service was second to none. There were lots of laughs all around and they really cared about what you wanted and were more than willing to make substitutions if you wanted something a little different. I didn’t get the names of the two working there but they told me that they aren’t in the food service, they are in the people service. And that showed not only to me but to the other customers who were enjoying their lunch too.

I seem to be working my way through the Scotia Square food court! Coffee and Colours is a hidden gem just outside Scotia Square. This eatery sits across the pedway connecting the Square to the hotel. The staff/owners are very friendly and service is amazing. One of my favorite lunches from here is the Thai Chicken wrap. Everything is so fresh and portions are large. I have tried many items from the menu and have not had a bad meal. My two favorites have to be the thai chicken wrap and the chicken quesadilla. They also will cater meals which is something we do when we have meetings at work. The food always shows up on time and is fresh. I would suggest everyone makes it a point to stop in for the breakfast or lunch, you will not be disappointed.

When I worked downtown, this was one of my go-to places for a full and delicious meal. Besides a full wrap bar, they’ve got a great selection of samosas and pasta salads. Plus brownies. Oh, the brownies! They typically have at least four different kinds of brownie. All delicious. And big! Staff are friendly and recognized me after only my second time there. They have a small area to eat in but you can also grab it to go. They have a catering service as well but I’ve never used it. Seriously, get one of their brownies.
