Killiam Properties – 95 Knightsridge

I’ve always felt Unilocal should, would and could be an amazing place to find out what apartments are like before you get locked in for a year to something like an apartment.
Overall this apartment building is good for the price. All two bedrooms, all for just under $ 1000… with electricity and water included (you don’t pay extra)
The property manager is Claude Hann. He’s a welling meaning guy. Easy to get along with, and flexible to help you out in situations like when you are working night shifts and they are doing inspections of the sprinklers or plumbing. A little slow to fix things when they need it. but overall a great guy.
The building is about 20 years old. The roof is due for an upgrade. and some of the tenants are less than savory with their cleanliness and general actions. Profanities are scratched into the elevator every so often. I have seen people lighting up smokes in the elevator before they head out the door. and there is constantly random garbage left around the floors. One plus is the entire building is concrete, so sound between units in minimal.
The unit we were in was above the laundry room, and that made for a great temperature in the winter. but a nightmare scenario for the summer. An a/​c was needed…
The major problem I had was with Killam themselves. Even now, half a month after moving out, are sluggish to get to you about your deposit. have a slow accounting firm (apparently) and refuse to answer the phone when you contact them.
Just leaving a bad taste in my mouth about the whole experience.
