Mixed feelings. I’ve been here before to use their bulk section and the staff was somewhat knowledgable, friendly. Went again to buy a specific brew kit and it wasn’t there so the employee suggested the opposite of what I wanted(looking for an IPA, offered a porter). Also another staff member used«I’m new» as an excuse for everything. Hire some people who have a base knowledge of brewing please!

Why do I feel like I’m walking into a comic book shop, but it’s beer & wine in here? If you are doing the home brewing or wine making this is probably the best location out of the noble grape locations. They are open when you get the desire to start a batch of brew of wine, only the burnside location has extended hours. Good selection of gear and brews, I’ve grown from festa brews beer kits to the prepared partial grain kits. When pressed, the staff do have knowledge and it’s wise to listen.

Something we have been considering for some time is making our own wine. So while on route to dinner at Happy Sushi last night, we stopped in to Noble Grape for a peek and some information. The staff seem to be quite knowledgeable and will tell you how to start. They offer a number of «Starter Kits» starting at $ 99 that include all of the equipment you need to begin your own wine making. The kit also includes the wine, which is a definite plus. There is a variety of wine to choose from including whites, reds, sparkling and fruit flavors all at different prices. Not feeling wine? Try brewing some beer, you can buy those supplies here as well. You can also purchase labels, cases and glasses. So when we are finally ready to start drinking wine with every meal, we will head to Noble Grape so that we can make it to!

I can’t say enough good things about the Noble Grape. While they have 6 locations in the HRM(plus one in Fredericton) we have mostly gone to the Clayton Park location and are always so impressed with how friendly and helpful the staff always is. Even new staff seem incredibly knowledgeable and eager to help. While we made it through our first wine kit with minimal trouble, we did call them on a few occasions(which they encouraged) and were always set on the right path. They have an amazing customer appreciation program which rewards regular customers with great deals and keeps people coming back. They would be my #1 recommendation for anyone who wants to start making their own wine, beer or spirits.

Noble Grape is located in Clayton Park area, find the Smitty’s and you will find them. This store is for the adventurous people who like to create their own wines etc. The store is packed with different varieties of grape juices. They carry some of the top lines. Selection, which runs about $ 160.00, however is mostly grape juice, so not a lot of water to add. Also it actually comes with grape skins. So this is like a Vineyard in a Box. I use to make wine, this was a great deal. I was actually contemplating, do I want to start back into this again. The selection here was great, the staff were nice, I spoke with Matt Conrad, he knows his stuff, go pick his brain if this is something you are contemplating. What caught my eye, was the wine glasses. I bought these great wine glasses. Bormiolle Rocco, 6 glasses, 82cl, 27 ¾ oz, Crystal for $ 25.00. A Great Deal! Huge is the word to use here. Now Matt told me, that one full bottle of wine would fit into one glass. Hmm, I have not tried yet, but it is a challenge that I will take. First I will have to find one large straw, or a wine partner. lol But according to google, 750 ml = about 26 ounces. Wow, that is amazing. Who knew I can now hold a full bottle of wine in my glass. Insane! Noble Grape has 5 locations locally and one in New Brunswick. Stop by and have a look.
