Olly Fresco’s

Oh Ollys, you’re my default spot for lunch, sometimes breakfast, when I forget to pack one or don’t have time to in the morning!
I’ve had the pre-​made wraps (usually get the chicken cheddar bacon, or roasted chicken). They are pretty good, sometimes I find they are soggy, but they are pre-​made. I have also had a fresh made roasted chicken sandwich with roasted red pepper mayo. It was pretty good, my only problem with it was that the bread did not seem fresh. The other day I decided to try the lunch buffett, noticing that a lot of people choose that option. So I got a small container and put a tiny bit of rice, 4 pieces of roasted potatoes, 2 riblets, a small spoonful of something else, and a small spoonful of pasta salad. It was not very much, but enough to fill for lunch. When I got to the cash, I was shocked at the price, $ 8.50! If I could have, I would have put it back and went for my $ 4.99 sandwich. It was good though, but not worth that price, quantity wise. I have also bought a ceaser salad here and was happy that the dressing was homemade (at least it appeared to me), but it gave me terrible heart burn later on, too much garlic perhaps?
My other big issue is in the mornings, they serve tons of muffins. However, they do not label the muffins, and I honestly have no idea just by looking at them the type, except blueberry. I can’t even tell which one is chocolate chip! And asking someone here is out of the question because usually one person is on cash, swamped, and one, maybe two behind the counter making sandwiches. So I have bought the blueberry once or twice, and it is not very good. It does not taste like much but is very heavy and leaves me feeling icky.
Overall, Ollys is a good place to go if you are in a pinch, especially if you work in Purdys Wharf, like myself. Everything is made fresh, and they have lots of options!

I tend to eat lunch late and I tend to buy it from Olly’s. «Late lunch, another wrap?» is something I often hear from my colleagues.
Olly’s is conveniently located between Purdy’s Tower 1 and the Xerox building (I work in Tower 1). Given that I purchase something from Olly’s approximately 3 – 5 times per week, I’d have to give them an OK review or reevaluate my food choices. Although I don’t often veer from my fried egg wrap (whole wheat pita, veggies galore, roasted red pepper mayo and a fried egg), sometimes I do like to shake things up with a tuna wrap. Olly’s has a daily pay-​by-​weight buffet. I rarely buy from the buffet, but it always looks fresh and has good variety (even sushi at times). Homemade soup is always an option. A 5 star item appearing daily: rice pudding.
So although I can’t give high marks for originality and I’ll admit I wouldn’t make a destination if I didn’t work in the area, Olly’s is a good choice for lunch.

What professional doesn’t love convenient food that’s reasonably priced and tastes good?
Located in the Purdy’s tower pedway that links the Purdy’s office buildings into the Barrington place shops, Olly Fresco’s has both hot and cold offerings for breakfast and lunch. The hot buffet style counter lets you buy by weight and on a given day there are all kinds of offerings. There are cold offerings (salads, etc) and a sandwich bar, so I challenge you to be underwhelmed with your choices.
Often, I don’t like coffee that is brewed ahead, but the Olly’s turnover is high, and the coffee quality is great for a quick fix.
Seating is varied — both inside and along the thoroughfare — good for people watching.
