I tried the portabella mushroom melt burger. In a word, disgusting. I know it was supposed to be brioche, but still the bun was so oily I had to wipe my greasy hands after choking down every bite. The bottom of the burger box was swimming in grease. Cheddar, beef and mushrooms; these things should have tasted great together but it was a hot mess. The fries were limp and lukewarm and way over-salted. I couldn’t finish the combo meal. Really, I’m not sure why I even kept eating after the first bite. Perhaps, I dared myself to try to actually finish something so gross to put it out of its misery. In case I needed a reminder of how truly awful thing was, it is sticking in my stomach like a rude, house guest who has overstayed their unwelcome welcome. I usually stick to items off the value menu and their salads; thanks to this experience I’ll never venture onto the regular menu again. Wendy’s should have paid me to eat this thing.

Wendy’s has good burgers. They have made it more complicated to get just a burger by only offering cheeseburgers. Now when I order a plain burger(the way I like ‘em), I not only must specify«plain — just burger and bun» but also add«No cheese either» and hope they understand my full request. Mike doesn’t care for cheeseburgers either so he must also specify no cheese. It’s an extra request, increases the chances of the cashiers getting your order wrong, and was the demand for cheeseburgers only really that great? That said, I do like their burgers. Their fries? Were never very good to begin with, and they’ve only gotten worse since the Wendy’s revamp awhile ago. So I stick with their baked potato, which I always enjoy. This location is fa-REEZING regardless of time of year, so we stick with the drive-through. It is clean inside, but the most coveted area of the restaurant(by the windows facing Kempt) is usually crowded. Staff have always been friendly and efficient, and prices are reasonable.

Not recommended during the lunch rush, about 11:30 — 12:30, drive-thru or in store — I did have to wait more than five minutes for a salad once. Outside of that hour, I’ve always received excellent, efficient customer service.
