History

Established in 2011.

I went to college for Fashion Design but I just didn’t like the field so I turned what I learned of sewing and patternmaking towards furniture instead. I started out learning upholstery at a small family run business in Orangeville Ontario and learned how to upholster the right way using only quality materials and proper upholstery techniques. I also completed a correspondence course in Interior Design because I have always loved decorating and design. I worked in an automotive plant for a couple years afterwards assembling car seats to further my upholstery knowledge and skills in the automotive sector. The last 10 ½ years I was the sole upholsterer for a local company in Georgetown. I upholstered everything from cars, boats, planes and buses to sofa’s, loveseats, chairs, footstools, benches and unique custom projects. I am extremely pleased to be running my own small business now and am looking forward to meeting and having many more satisfied customers. Call for an estimate today!

I am Hope van Ravens and I am a custom upholsterer. I have been upholstering off an on for the last 20+ years, the last 10 and a half at a local Georgetown company upholstering everything and anything. I am very pleased to be operating my own Upholstery business now where I can apply more creative and innovative solutions as well as offer my clients more eco friendly fabric and foam options. I have also started my own design line HvR ONE ~ Recycled Designs in which I find discarded furniture (mainly chairs) that would have ended up in landfill and transform them into high quality unique «ONE» of a kind pieces using more eco friendly fabrics and foam. I have a dear friend who has them displayed for sale in her store Kameylan Your Home Décor at 165 Broadway in Orangeville, Ontario.
