We were at the hotel over the weekend for the BCCFA tournament and a lot of families we knew booked there too which was great as the kids played in the pool the entire time. Customer service was alright nothing to complain about the staff there however I did have two problems when we checked in. I had previously booked through days inn middle of March and couple days later called back to make another reservation for another family under my name. At the time of check in, the other family came first and had taken our room. The staff didn’t wait for my permission I guess if that makes sense since the rooms was both under my name. They had given them my room and provided me with a single bed although on my reservation it stated clearly that I had a queen bed & a pull out couch, I even called prior just to confirm and once again they confirmed I had both of those. At my surprise when I got there and saw that one single bed I called reception and asked them what happened. They asked me if i was friends with the other family, I said yes, they then proceeded and asked me to go ask them for the room back… NO I WILL not tell my friends that checked in prior with her family of 5 to get out of there because days inn messed up. I said NO I WILL not so please come up with a solution they then called me back from the room to tell me they found another room for us. That was quite stressful and hectic to go through after a long 4+ hours driver from Surrey. Then the next day which was Saturday, I get an email telling me to call the hotel to confirm my reservations when I clearly checked in on the friday. I get an email saying the email was delayed even though it said june 7th201410:11am.weird but again you pay for what you get :)

I’m disillusioned at why people would give this place 4 stars, seriously. The carpet in my room looked like it was well travelled by people with pets. Your right, one shouldn’t complain when paying just over $ 90 a night, it’s no Westin, Fairmont or even a Delta Hotel so it shouldn’t aspire to be one. What I do think makes up for a basic property is service and cleanliness and they get one star for cleanliness and the other for price point. Don’t be disillusioned by the renovated contemporary lobby area. When you make your way to your room you’ll be surprised to see were they sunk all their money. The front desk clearly saw us pulling in to check in and promptly left her front desk post as we stood there waiting for someone to check us in. The property was noisy and we could hear the guests above us as we’ll as outside. On one occasions I got out of bed and asked if they could continue their conversation inside or in the lobby. The other time at 1am I dramatically opened the drapes to stare at a group of people talking loudly outside our room. They were clearly not going to be asked by the front desk so I took it upon myself to do it myself. As I write this is can hear a woman sneezing in the other room! I’m sure if I reached out far enough I could probably hand her a tissue from my room through the paper thin walls. I’m glad it’s only for one night!

I recently stayed here during a business trip; the rooms were simple and clean, free cable television, and best of all– the hot tub was open until 11pm. The lobby staff was friendly, though when we needed access to an Ethernet plug-in they were reluctant to help us out,(we ended up having to drive over to a different hotel where they let us use their Ethernet plug-in [free of charge). It was a great location, pretty close to everything yet not particularly noisy. I couldn’t tell you much about the pricing though, considering it was a third-party transaction(I never saw a bill).
