Delta Grand Okanagan Resort

Decent hotel; very close walk to downtown area with nice food and bars. Stayed here on an event while they were doing construction. Bed was a bit broken in and not as supportive as resort hotel beds generally are and they allowed construction to start right outside my balcony by 7 am, which is completely unheard of at a hotel in my experience of staying in 100+ locations. Check in is not until 4 pm (also unheard of, maybe because we came from the US, but seriously never had this experience in the Marriott in Calgary or in Toronto) and our rooms weren’t ready even by 3 pm.
Even if citywide noise regulations say that they can begin at 6:30 am but apparently «they usually have a little more respect and wait til 7:30 am», it is the hotel’s responsibility and the hotel’s property.
For that I would have taken off even more stars as the hotel clearly doesn’t have consideration for its guests in mind, which should be implied as part of their responsibility to provide a service.

Rooms were clean and very modern and the daily cleaning service was excellent. The location of the hotel is perfect and central to everything that is awesome about downtown Kelowna. The food in the hotel was okay and I was not over to excited about their room menu. Good thing plenty of great food around the area.

Hotel lobby is nice. Hotel staff were friendly at check in however missed many details that would have been nice to know. For example, we only learned from other guests that if you forego housekeeping you get a discount at the restaurant. We also weren’t told wifi information and check out time. Usually key things you let a guest know at check in.
Hotel is in a key location with a nice view of the lake and a five min walk to many shops and restaurants downtown.
Rooms are an odd set up. A long hallway that is unnecessary leading into a room with a king bed and a small bathroom. The room had two balconies with a great view though, but you can only look as there isn’t room to actually stand on the balcony.
I ate at the restaurant for breakfast. It was a standard normal breakfast with toast, eggs, pancakes etc. I would probably just walk five minutes to a nearby pub and grab breakfast for 6 or 7 dollars rather than pay nearly 20 though if I could do it again.
Nice place. Would return.

The Delta is in the perfect location in Kelowna. Directly on the lake (many rooms have a lake front view) and only a few minutes walk to downtown Kelowna and many of its shops and restaurants.
Check in went very quickly and smoothly with amazing service! The front desk staff went out of there way to recommend some great places to eat and get a drink at — making us a fairly extensive list for our four nights in Kelowna.
The rooms themselves are quite large and many have been renovated in recent years. The rooms have all of the standard items you’d expect (although apparently no in room safe?). The big plus was having two mini-​balconies in our room to give more of a view (although they weren’t big enough to sit on sadly).
We didn’t get a chance to check out the pools. They looked nice although not as big as the pictures on the website.
Biggest complaint may have been having to pay for parking ($ 19 a night as of August 2015). Given that most people either drive here or rent a car you’d think they would include it. At least they haven’t gone to those silly resort fees yet…
Overall we would stay here again.

Stayed here while attending a convention and found it to be a bit high priced compared to the service .
Not at all a terrible place by any means as the location is excellent and the staff was very nice .
Just felt the place could do with a bit of a refresh.

I stayed here when I came to see the New Kids on The Block. Great rooms, great service, clean spacious and they even have an internet room. My only issue is that my room wasn’t cleaned on a daily basis in spite of me not having the DND sign on the door.

We stayed here for a conference recently and were happy to find out all the rooms have been renovated. We had a lovely room with great views of Water Street and the pool/​lake. Food at the conference was great and it was nice to have coffee or tea options along with a small fridge in our room. Service was great. I rated only four stars because parking lot spaces are tiny (hard to park a larger car) Great location and look forward to our next visit.

Waterfront hotel right downtown Kelowna. It is new modern and beautifully built with good size rooms and splendid view of the lake and the mountains. Really good beds which is important to me and my wife. Super friendly and helpful staff with lots of suggestions for restaurants and activities. I would like to come back and add a wine tour — there are some fantastic wineries in the area that we missed.
The pool looked like it would be perfect an warm summer day — you can swim in and out of the hotel.
We did use the gym twice in the three days — fully loaded and not crowded. Free water and towels.

I was here for two days for a business conference.
The rooms were ok. I was given a room with two beds for just myself. I think it would be better if i just had one bed. The rooms were nice and clean and the beds were comfy.
The conference rooms were nice. The conference food was surprising pretty good. The fish was a bit over cooked, but the soup was amazing and so was the dessert.
It was a nice touch to have free apples provided at the front desk.
The elevator keys didn’t work all the time.
The casino was conveniently close however, there was a time when I was trying to sleep and i could hear these three LOUD guys outside (probably for a smoke). At one point, i think they were yelling at someone in the parking lot to try to create a fight. This did wake me up so not the greatest spot for a smoking area to be beside rooms.
The Hotel did have some shops on the main floor.
The bar on the main floor was also nice and cosy. The waitresses there were super nice and gave us great service.
The pool looked nice and warm. I didn’t try it but maybe next time.

After a chaotic/​unpleasant check in experience we finally got a semi decent room. Stayed almost two weeks for business at the casino, you’d think they’d move the people who have to work at 4 am AWAY from the elevators but everyone ended up with the closest rooms to them. Decent room, major check-​in communication guffaw with the snooty front desk day shift.
Rooms were quite nice. Love the Philosophy toiletries. My biggest complaint is that there were dead mosquitoes all over lights and the wall unit. Also, the outlets near my side of the bed didn’t work BUT a strong point of the rooms is a plethora of outlets and even a built in HDMI cable (bring your Apple TV!), and on the same note, the wireless «XL» was whack. Thank the good lord for LTE coverage.
Too bad the weather was uncooperative during our stay, the pool looked gorgeous.

We just got back from our trip and stayed again at the royal private residence club.
Wonderful villas, clean and well equipped, and stunning view. Exquisitely furnished and finished, it features every comfort and amenity for the ultimate getaway.
Not only are the Villas impressive on the inside, but they all have large decks or patios to enjoy the sun… or you can wander down to the beach if you prefer.
The Rooftop Club Amenities are Spectacular
Soak in the luxurious infinity pool or hot pool while you watch the sunset. You can just watch the lake activity. Feel the warmth of the sun while you tan on the large sundeck. Or relax with a massage in the spa area.
For the only restaurant in the hotel they can do better, also some of the servers are not properly trained. I’ve seen two days in a row that glasses have been broken.
Other than that…
Again we’ve enjoyed our stay.

Tonight, my daughter wanted to watch a movie in our hotel room: «Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events.» Since checking in at the Delta Grand Okanagan, our family stay has been a similar series of unfortunate events. Let me elaborate.
This should have been a nice hotel stay at a fine rate in a recently remodeled room right on Lake Okanagan, with a pool. Seemed like a great spot for a family vacation. And there were some nice things about this hotel like a lounging area right by the lake, with a sauna, jacuzzi, indoor and outdoor pool and a place to buy drinks poolside. If you sign up for their premier program online, you get a late check out, as late as 3 pm, which is unheard of. A real plus.
Sadly, there were also a series of unfortunate events at this hotel that took away from our overall experience.
While trying to watch a movie, unfortunately our movie system didn’t work, and maintenance, although called several times, unfortunately never showed up. So, with no maintenance, my husband pulled a MacGyver and streamed an Amazon movie to our TV. Take that! We tried ordering food via room service, but unfortunately, each call we made went directly to an answering machine. Yep. Room service has their own answering machine. I know. It’s unfortunate.
Then, unfortunately, a strong smell of urine started inexplicably coming from our air conditioning unit, so we decided to continue to watch the movie and shut off the air, the lesser of two evils. Our room heated up considerably, but we knew calling maintenance wasn’t an option, unfortunately, so we went to bed in rising heat until unfortunately, drip, drip, drip, water came dripping coming from our bathroom ceiling at 3 am, which we had to sop up with our hotel towels (no housekeeping at 3 am, unfortunately.) It didn’t seem to be related to the airconditioning snafu, just an unfortunate coincidence.
The next morning, we called down and notified the hotel of the situation, we were offered a room with a lake view as a upgrade (sounds nice) which required that we repack all our bags. Unfortunate, but necessary. Turns out our view was of the hotel roof mostly, with a crane your neck view of the lake. Unfortunate, but not a major surprise. Breakfast at $ 24 was unfortunate, but don’t get me started. The next unfortunate event? Trying to dial out to order dinner, only to discover that every number in Okanagan was unfortunately busy. Oh no, guest services insisted, this was NOT a problem with the phone. The pizza places had gone out of business, or perhaps they were busy, or we were dialing out incorrectly. Everything fine on their end. So we hung up and tried again and again and again and we found every number in Okanagan was busy. Hmmm. We asked guest services to please check again. Opps! The problem was theirs after all. They unfortunately neglected to turn on the phone. Fixed now, they insisted. Try again. Upon hanging up and trying again, unfortunately nothing has changed. Calling guest services again, frustrated, what do they recommend? Call maintenance, they insist. They unfortunately never came last night, I mention. Hmm, that’s unfortunate, why don’t you come down eight floors and use the lobby phone? But we are exhausted. Would you please call out for us? Oh no, unfortunately this would tie up a line! That’s when I unfortunately hit the roof.
Delta Grand Okanagan offers a great place for testing your MacGyver skills. It does not, offer a relaxing stay and that is really unfortunate.

We had a group of 13+ guys stay here for a bachelor party on the Canadian Holiday weekend. The hotel rooms are clean, the décor is nice and it was very convenient to have all the amenities we needed. We reserved a few condos with lake view about 3 – 4 weeks ahead of time. We were surprise and happy to find out that they full-​filled our request to have connecting rooms. That made our stay much more convenient and pleasant (especially with the great lake view).
Into the first night, with 13+ guys and some private entertainment, I admit we did make some noise (not SUPER loud at all) after hours and the manager (Brad) and some security came by to ask us to keep it quiet and for the non-​registered guest to leave the hotel (in a very demanding/​threatening manner). We understood the circumstances, being that there may have been families near our rooms so we cooperated the manager’s request and ended our night on a sour note… also, we did not want to get kicked out on a major holiday weekend and be left stranded on the streets.
The next night we approached Brad and explained to him that we felt unwelcomed and that we are reasonable people that just want to have a good time. He apologized to us and stayed in our room for a little while to make sure we were all on the same page. After our talk with the manager, we felt more comfortable as he just wanted to make sure we weren’t extremely loud. The manager also approved our request on the spot to check out 2 hours later the next morning (we knew we had a lot of partying left as the night was still young).
The concierge was always helpful and all of the employees were very nice and knowledgable. They also have a casino with some unfriendly security guards at the entrance/​exits. Some of the guys felt very profiled as the security did not let them in without two forms of ID… while many of the other guys (we are all in our mid-30’s) got in without showing anything form of identification.
All in all… we had a great time!

The Spa at this hotel is fantastic, full range of services. I have seen Brian twice now for the Signature massage and have had excellent results. He is very professional, prompt and offers service that goes above and beyond making the client feel comfortable and spoiled.
The hotel has valet service. $ 5.00 is added to your spa bill which is well worth the service and completes the whole spa experience!

Really decent rooms. We stayed in the king size room with bathtub a tri shape which was great! Food in the restaraunt was good a bit expensive though. Attached to a casino if you like that sort of thing.
Hotel is on the water with amazing views and easy walking paths to lake and downtown kelowna.

The hotel is fairly nice. One major problem — we booked the more upscale «condos» in the hotel, which were nice enough, albeit the laminate floors seemed cheap — appeared that they were trying to make it seem like it was real hardwood, and cheaped out.
That being said, the worst thing about the place was the stench while walking through the common areas in the condo building. It smelled like stale/​rotten food or something. It wasn’t good, and didn’t go away ALL weekend. It seems like it’s some odor completely ingrained into the carpet or something. It certainly made out stay a lot less enjoyable, especially considering that we spent more than $ 2000 there over the long weekend.
Come one Delta — I expect more from you.

With a view of the Lake Okanagan, and two mini balconies in our room, this is the perfect weekend getaway lodging in downtown Kelowna.
Situated in the heart of downtown, this hotel also has ballrooms for conference facilities. Self parking is available, and the casino is right next door.
Our room was large and the countertop in the bathroom is one of the largest I’ve seen in a hotel. It was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable, and the view is just spectacular.
We didn’t get a chance to check out the pool, but I’ve heard good things about it. Fresh Okanagan apples at the check In counter too, starting your stay the right way.
Friendly staff all round, and our banquet dinner there was well organized. Will definitely stay here again!

I stayed here this past weekend for the GranFondo marathon that started right out front.
What it has going for it? Restaurants inside or close by, indoor and outdoor pool with hot tubs, one of the most amazing gyms I’ve seen at a hotel, spa services, very friendly and courteous staff, speedy room service, great movie choices, and a view on the lake to kill for. This really is a gorgeous place to stay!
My two complaints: one, the tv in our room was kinda cruddy. It kept losing reception and going fuzzy on us. Not enough to really interfere with the movie, but it got to be a bit annoying. Secondly, there’s not a lot of options for breakfast within the hotel other than the restaurant or a tiny little café with coffee and a handful of pastries (we’re talking four options in pastries). The restaurant is nice and has a great selection, but if you’re looking for a quick, inexpensive breakfast, there’s not much available right there other than coffee and a muffin. The breakfast buffet is great but pretty expensive, and the continental breakfast they offer doesn’t seem to have a lot of options. I would have liked some better choices in this area.
The pools though are definitely one of the best features of the place! I could have stayed in the heated outdoor pool for the three days I stayed there.
