Food is fantastic but expensive. Poppadoms is a good spot for a more formal dinner but if you just want good Indian food I recommend Made In India.

This is the first time I have done a Unilocal review because I feel like this resturant deserves it. This is some of the best Indian food my family and I have eaten. You can tell that this is a family run business that cooks everything from scratch and fresh ready to order. When we first walked in they had a sign up that said they were short staffed, but it didn’t seem like it at all. Try this place out, you will not be dissapointed.

Service was good but I would categorize the food as pseudo Indian cuisine. Menu would benefit from a few simple additions dishes … Pappadoms, onion bhaji, aloo ghobi, curry dishes, raita, etc…, a wider use of spices, and a tandoori oven

Best Pakoras I have ever tasted, although everything was very flavorful and enjoyable, the crispy Pakoras are what stood out most.

Only a mediocre east-indian food place for me regarding only the food itself, especially since I find it overpriced compared to other east-indian restaurants in Kelowna. I had beef vindaloo with rice and garlic naan. Besides being a little bit disappointed by the size of the dish(still ok, but under average size) I thought maybe the taste will balance that out, but it didn’t. I’m not saying it tasted bad, but it was just normal and ok, nothing special. Spice level was as I’ve ordered it — very spicy. Service was friendly, atmosphere is clean, nice and modern. My sister had, like always, butter chicken, which was a little bit small portioned, too, especially, like I said, since the pricing is higher than it should be. Tastewise hers was just ok. The naan was a little bit small, too. Don’t get me wrong, I am not the guy who says the more the better, and quality doesn’t matter. And for sure it’s a plus to be a nice and clean place. But if the pricing is high, the portions size is lower average, the taste and quality of food is just average, then I don’t know why I should drive all the way up there, even if the atmosphere and the service are good.

Let’s start with the atmosphere. In a plaza, really? I’m in a shopping plaza. Can’t really tell. Warmly painted in rich tones of oranges and browns. It could be a five star on décor alone, but there’s windows and… oh yeah, it’s in a shopping plaza. ‘Nuff said! The menu is spectacular, it’s small, which I love! I still had problems making a selection, so to settle the debate I let the spice meter pick for me… Vindaloo. with beef. If you are a spice lover this is perfect, but if your tolerance is for«Western Hot» is low keep browsing the menu. It’s India hot, and not for every palette! If you’re brave enough to try it, order a side of yoghurt to cut the heat a bit. It isn’t just about the heat, the zip of vinegar comes through and the beef is pull apart tender. Another Unilocaler recommended splurging for the garlic na’an, and I agree it was amazing. I had it with the mango chutney, which is also spicy. Poppadoms is an Indian surprise that shouldn’t be missed, it’s as close to India as it gets. Best part, this time I didn’t have to risk malaria and dengue fever for true Indian cuisine.

Best Indian food in the valley, I dare say… food is consistently fresh & delicious! The menu features locally-sourced ingredients, and new items rotate in seasonally. The special event menus(for things like Okanagan Wine & Dine) are wonderful! Staff is friendly — this is a family-run place, and they love what they do, and they do it very well. They also offer cooking demos and cooking classes, which are a great value & wonderful learning opportunities!

I heard good things about Poppadoms which is what led me to visit it while travelling through Kelowna. I was not disappointed. The whole family enjoyed their meals. Everything was tasty and the range of spiciness was a bonus. I would definitely visit it again.

I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant! From the outside, it looked very«westernized». Once seated I found the staff to be very knowledgeable. I was super excited to see that they have a Vegan menu. I have not had much luck so far in Kelowna with finding Vegan-friendly restaurants. Also, for my meat-eating friend, all of their meat is hormone-free. Prices were decent and the selection was good. Great experience! Looking forward to finding more options to treat myself in the city!

Lamb popsicles out of this world! Kelowna’s ethnic restaurant of choice. We are regulars and love going to Poppadoms and a movie. This is a great success story of a family coming to Canada and making a real name for themselves in the competitive restaurant business. Amazing food, service and never dissapoints.

This is one of my favorite eateries in Kelowna. The freshest ingredients and the right spices create the most savory meals. Not to say they didn’t have their hiccupps but now that they have been running for a while the service has caught up to the food. Always a pleasure to go here for a bite before a movie.

new restaurant, went there for the first time last night. I would have given them a 3 if the owners were not as personable and seemed so dedicated to the place and open 2 feed back. when we first sat down we had 2 wait a couple min. for menus & our drinks. The owners introduced thhhemselves & made it clear if we had any questions about the(huge & kind of confusing) menu to ask. My husband loved the chicken pakoras! we also had the chilli paneer, i wouldnt order it again(super oily). all our main were fantastic thou. we order them indian hot & were actually kind of spicy! food was really filling. when we got our bill we noticed the price of one of the dishes was $ 16 then another $ 7 to add 4 prawns. the dish was very small so my husband casually mentioned it to one of the owners at the end & he took off $ 9.50 from our bill. we left happy!
