I was surprised this was only 3.5 stars after we ate. Should be higher, unless the competition is fierce in this town. Normally in florida where I’m from this would be a 4.5 stars. The inside from the street looked uninviting compared to all the places with outdoor patios and spacious places to eat. But we took a chance and were pleasantly surprised. the food was really pretty. Portions were good and prices were agreeable. The food was very quick as well which was nice. The service was really good also. We had the Mango Chicken, Cashew Chicken, Spicy Thai Basil Chicken and a bunch of white rice. The Mango Chicken was the typical Asian battered fried chicken covered in sweet and sour like sauce. It was fresh and the batter was very thin and the chicken was moist and perfect. Lovely dish. The other two had great flavor also and was fresh and delightful although the Spicy Thai Basil Chicken was lacking spicy-ness based on our tastes(maybe ask for a side of hot sauce). The rice was as good as you can expect. Fresh and light.

Quick turnaround for food, friendly servers. I had the fresh vegetable rolls which were FANTASTIC. Fresh, chewy, and came with hoisin sauce. My entrée was the mango chicken, which was overall, lackluster. As it was fried chicken, it basically tasted like chicken balls drowning in plum sauce with a few vegetables in the bowl. I had a hard time finishing it, very very sweet. My date ordered the cumin beef and it tasted very nice though. I was hesitant to try anything marked spicy but next time I think I’ll avoid anything that sounds like it’s on the sweet end of the spectrum, and based on everything else I tried, I feel that I will enjoy my next meal more. Deep fried bananas for dessert(which you can get with or without ice cream), yum yum yum. I’m always grateful to a restaurant that has non-dairy dessert options on their menu that don’t suck!

It’s my favourite Thai viet place in ktown for sure. Portions are large, prices are pretty cheap, quality is consistent and the food is really good. They do a really good basic pad Thai, and the bo bun is good as well. Never a let down, and their service for both dine in and take out is generally quite speedy. Doesn’t disappoint that’s for sure!

Pretty good Thai food in Kingston. They had a large option if items including vietnamese«bun» or vermicelli. It made me wonder if the owner is Thai-Vit. Good enough for small town. Will visit here again.

It was ok. Kingston is not the same as the bigger cities in terms of quality of Asian restaurants. I had an enjoyable meal, serving sizes were quite large, but there wasn’t anything special that really impressed me.

Compared to other Asian ethnic places in Kingston, Mango is above the standard. Located along the downtown shopping area of the city, the place is convenient for shoppers and tourists wanting to eat Thai. Quiet environment with a decent show of décor. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai and Spring rolls for a late lunch meal. The menu was very limited and went with my safety dish. The whole meal filled me up and fulfilling. The reason for the low scoring is because compared to Thai restaurants in Toronto, this place could not compete. However, because this is Kingston, I would recommend this place above their other competitors.

I would recommend Mango if you’re looking for a place to host a large group of friends. I’ve been here twice already with large groups, and this place doesn’t disappoint. Service is great, clean restaurant. Food is average, but I mean, you’re in Kingston. If you want 4 star or 5 star thai food, take the 2 hour drive over to Toronto. Solid choice. Not quite deserving of a 4 star rating, but it’s a good spot for large groups.

For a first visit, I enjoyed Mango. Food was fresh, service was good, and since the place was busy, I think they did a good job of managing a serious amount of customers. I had the pad thai, as that’s my go-to thai dish to compare all thai restaurants against each other, and I think this was pretty good. My favourite part were the fresh veggies on top of the dish when it arrived. Awesome presentation and really perked things up. Overall, a safe and tasty thai choice in downtown.

I’ve gone here a few times a few years back. The food is great. The prices and service is good as well. I ordered the mango chicken and it was perfect. Would definitely recommend.

Visited Mango again to get away from a crappy cottage we rented 60 mins north of Kingston. So maybe it was the cottage cuisine or maybe we just plain old hungry, but the food this time around was delicious and yum yum to boot. The staff were wonderfully pleasant — maybe it’s a Kingston thing — and they gave us the very front of the restaurant so the kids could look out the window and entertain themselves with the impending collision between a transit bus and a mini-van. How did they ever know that was going to happen? As I said, service was wonderful!

Pretty good misc Asian food. I ordered the Malaysian Chicken Curry w/coconut sticky rice and the Satay Chicken. The Satay chicken was pretty good. The accompanying mango salad stole the plate though. The mango was very fresh. The peanut sauce was pretty bland. The Malaysian Curry was ok. IT appeared to be no different than other Thai yellow curries though. I am used to a thicker style of Malaysian curry so I was a little disappointed. Decent meal. Clean restaurant. I would go back.

Pretty good food there! One of the more popular joints for Thai food in Kingston. I like their curry chicken. The sauces are always overwhelming. In a way it makes the food really rich. However I find that the portions that they serve are generally too little to be filling. That is one of the reasons I am a little reluctant to go since I will have to go search for food again two hours after I get out of that restaurant. Overall experience = Okay.

Got some panang curry and while it was tasty, there was a heck of a lot more sauce than anything else. For $ 12 an entrée thai food(typically not too expensive), I would expect a heck of a lot of at least VEGETABLES. Would I come back? For a lunch special, definitely.

Wonderful ambiance and menu at a great price. Had the lunch special today(hmmm, draft saved from about two weeks ago… But this remains, Mango is one of my favorite restaurants), which was a green curry chicken. It was delicious. Just the right amount of heat, balanced perfectly by the veggies(including a nice butter squash) and rice. Highly recommend this place.

Awesome. We are in Canada for university visits and this has been our best dinner yet. We had the fresh shrimp and fresh veggie rolls — very good. The Tom Yum Soup(comes in 4 versions) was very good. A word of caution for some allergies — it contain coconut milk. The entrees were great. Cashew chicken and Basil were the most popular. Highly recommended!

What can I say, awesome! As an asian american from NYC I know good asian food. This was pretty damn good. Came here from Alexandria Bay because there’s nothing to eat there and we were glad we found this spot. Great prices and great food. You get a lot of bang for your buck. had the pork spring rolls and the bun with vietnamese spring rolls. Fish sauce was excellent!

Alot of Thai/Chinese eateries in Kingston but this one is pretty reliable for a cheap filling meal. The lunch specials are huge and the thai curry is pretty tasty. Service is definitely sub par especially if it’s packed. The space is pretty cramped and covered in 1980’s Asian kitsch. Overall, if you’re hungry, a good option downtown if you’re in the mood for that cuisine.

Mango probably has some of the best thai food in Kingston. We have a whole whack of Vietnamese places and a smattering of Indian eateries but in the Thai department Mango reigns with not a whole lot of competition. I always order some form of the Thai Veggie Curry(they have 5 different options!), which are cheap(10 bucks!) and very filling(roll me out). Their appetizers are also good and they have some great rolls. I also recommend the veggie peanut stir fry… Delicious. The only reason why I don’t give Mango the extra 4th star is the service. It can be really spotty. Sometimes it’ll be packed in there but you can get in and out in about an hour, other times it will be half full and you’ll wait 45 minutes just to be served(note I didn’t actually wait that long, a friend of mine did). But I’ve found that if you give the wait staff a gentle reminder of your existence they hop right to it and you’re all set for the night. So if you’re super hungry for Thai food in Kingston Mango is a must. They also have takeout if you want to stock up on Thai cuisine and head home or to the waterfront.
