Pretty cool little festival but WAY too cramped. There were thousands of people there but everybody is jammed into a few blocks. We couldn’t even get to some of the stalls because it was so busy. I wish they could spread it out a bit more. It would make browsing much easier. Close down another block or two and I bet it would make a world of difference. Fruit, candles, breads, crafts — pretty much a typical farmers market with a cranberry theme. There was some great musicians playing by the main hall and throughout the main drag. Parking nearby was a disaster but we found a great hidden parking area up near 88th. A bit of a walk but you don’t get stuck in traffic. Is it worth it? I like local events but Nah — it’s just another farmers market. Come to Fort Langley any Saturday for the farmers market at the church. It’s the same just smaller.

I think the Cranberry Festival is slowly becoming an annual tradition. I have now gone the past 2 years in a row and have every intention of heading out again this year. I love these type of festivals. I love checking out all of the market vendor tables and seeing the great selection of locally made crafts and goods, as well as picking up some fresh baked sweet and savory treats. yum and just taking in the whole community of Fort Langley. This festival can be quite busy. If you are interested in picking up cranberries for your thanksgiving feast I recommend getting there early before they are gone. Lastly, this festival is pooch friendly but if your pooch is not comfortable with large crowds I would recommend leaving him/her at home so they aren’t freaked out.

The Cranberry Festival is the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend and a ton of fun. My dragon boat friends and I got together and formed a team for the voyager canoe races. This year had 24 teams valiantly battle against one another on a 2 km course on the river. A short walk away from all of the action of the Cranberry Fest. There’s a small farmers market near the dock so folks can come and watch the canoe races(and chill competition for the paddlers) and then go for a little shop for local produce(pumpkins!). Up the street there are many booths that you normally see at the summer farmers markets in the Lower Mainland with a few local ones added. Cranberries are super hellacheap — $ 1/pound and picked the day before. There are lots of food options, similar to the PNE. Across from the cranberry stand is a stage for dancers and musicians. This is a really fun event — free parking, cheap cranberries and exciting canoe races… what more can you ask for in a little festival like this?!
