Great Canadian Oil Change – Langley

Great service terrific attitude could not do enough for us. New to area and needed an oil change found place on Internet –boy are we pleased we chose them. Took us immediately upon arrival, coffe and newspapers offered. Our technician hails from Texas, so nice, respectful cannot say enough good things about him. Wish more companies handled themselves in this manner!

I have gone here several times and I will likely again b/​c the location is convenient for me. The staff is friendly and my oil changes have usually been quick and … well, they changed the oil.
One experience was not great. I waited in line (10 min or so), only to drive up and be told they didn’t have the filter for my car in stock. I was told they’d order one from Lordco and have it in ~20 min. they would call me as soon as it was in. I was happy they’d do this and said I’d be at the Starbucks down the block waiting for their call. True to word, they called in 20 min. On my return, the bays were all servicing cars and only one truck was waiting. I was directed to wait in front of a different bay. Well… the bay in front of me cleared first and the guy (same one who told me I’d have to wait 20 for the filter) held his hand up to me and directed the truck from the other line to go ahead of me. He then walked up and explained that guy was there first. Ummmm, I had been waiting for more than 30 minutes,. and the truck was not there the first time around. In fact, with my first wait, my filter waiting time and my 2d wait… it had waited almost 40 minutes! Not impressed with that. I hope that was just a one time bad customer service experience.

I’m not scared to take my car here!
Ok, lets face it, we have all either heard or experienced quick change nightmares, right?
I like my machines, and take them pretty seriously. I am one of those types that would rather do my own repairs because I really don’t trust other people touching my stuff, its not a control thing, (well i guess it is a control thing?) I have just experienced too much poor training and negligence from all sorts of service industries.
I certainly am capable of changing my own oil, but realistically I live in an apartment, in the city, a rainy city and we haven’t even got the issue of disposal yet. I choose to pay have my oil changed. This is the first quick change place that i don’t get that roller coaster feeling as i drive into the bay.
The shop is clean, bright, the technicians can form complete sentences and are pleasant… but more importantly they seem to genuinely care about providing quality work.
They offer a good selection of bulk oil, several bottled brands all with various chemistries. They are a complete oil service shop (transmission, etc.) and are not adverse to customers bringing their own product, (I bring my own filters and have, in the past had the transmission changed with Redline racing synthetic) and do give credit when their own product is not being used. Free news papers and coffee are great, which they do offer, but at the end all I want is confidence that the service has been performed well.
the only thing I could suggest is they broaden the selection bottled oil brands a little bit, and include some less «boutique» (Amsoil) brands of synthetic.
