As the daughter of a diabetic, one with diabetes, and the mother of two diabetic kids – this place was one of the most important places for my kids and I to see. We traveled from Michigan to visit a friend in London, and when she mentioned the site, I knew we had to go. My kids 13 and 10 at the time, loved it, and learned so much. The guided tour was fascinating, and when the guide pointed out the flame that will only be extinguished when a cure is found, I burst into tears. Such a great place, so educational and inspiring. So hopeful. Even though I have been surrounded by this disease my entire life, I still learned so much.

Very entertaining and educational tour, both tour guides offer different types of a tour, I’d suggest going on a not-busy day so you can have both the science and history aspect of the tour to understand everything. When the science tour guide offers to explain Banting’s hypothesis please don’t attempt it, the book will take longer than 20 minutes. But the guides were both very informative and intelligent. Although make sure to ask about ghostly activity if you’re curious.
