I’ve tried to like Nate’s it just always falls short. They have a great a selection of food that all seem good. problem is they are not, it is all very bland and underwhelming. I’ve tried at least 5 different things from the menu and I’m always regretting what I end up with. my last 2 purchases where the kafta plate and the shawarma plate. The kafta was bland and full of spinach the salad was terrible, the rice and hummas saved my lunch. The shawarma was awful I mean truly terrible the chicken looked like shredded chicke out of a can, the rice on this meal was mushy luckily the salad was decent. If you are at the market there are so many places that are better do yourself a favor and dont stop here.

Friendly service but got food poisoning from the beef pastry. Overall a huge disaster and I regret going. The one star is for the friendly female counter girl.

Stopped here for a quick bite and it was hit and miss for what we ordered. The chicken shawarma pita sandwich was hands down one of the best I’ve had. Chock full of great ingredients with an amazing homemade garlic sauce that looked absolutely disgusting but tastes the way garlic sauce should taste. Their tabouli salad was poorly dressed, however. It was a fluffy and light tabouli with not much couscous in it — all the starters for a great tabouli, but it lacked real lemon juice. It had an awful faux lemon flavour and needed an acid and good oil. Great choice, still, even just for that awesome sandwich!

I though I’d try something new at the market today so went with Nate’s. I couldn’t decide between the spinach pie, a wrap, or the falafel plate. I wound up settling on the falafel plate and wish I wouldn’t have. Not that is was bad… it just wasn’t great. What I liked: that they ball and fry the falafel fresh when you order it. What I didn’t like: the unfriendly customer service, that the tomatoes in the salad were hard and far from ripe(at a farmer’s market!!!), there were a number of flavours of hummus but I wasn’t offered a choice — just given a scoop of regular which was OK but nothing special — actually I wasn’t offered anything other than a choice of salad type, potatoes or rice, tahini on the falafel, and eat there or take away– no fixins, nothing. I also assumed I’d get a piece of pita with the plate but no, that was not a part of my order apparently. I chose to eat there but did so before turning around to see that all of «Nate’s customer only tables» were dirty. Like, dirty. Not, ah give’r a quick wipe and it’s good, but needed to be cleaned. Of the maybe 6 or 7 tables there, only 2 were occupied and the rest… dirty. So I took my plate outside to eat. I will not be going back to Nate’s again and will absolutely not recommend it to people I go to the market with. I won’t give it only 1 star though because the taste/quality of the food that I ate deserves 2.
