I’ve tried this place a couple of times and each of my experiences have ranged from mediocre to moderately poor. I do commend this place for offering certain Indian dishes that aren’t widely offered at other Indian places here in this city. For example, they have a few street vendor chaats and south Indian dishes like dosas, idlis, sambar, vada, and coconut chutney. I think there’s only one other place in the city that offers such dishes. The dosas were fine but the masala filling was incredibly bitter as it seemed like it had an overabundance of turmeric in it. Other dishes I’ve tried are the vegetable biryani which looked and tasted more like a spicy pulao than a true biryani. The saag alu(spinach and potato curry) and dal tarka(spiced stewed lentils) were fine but they often don’t seem to have a number of vegetable dishes available. For example, the times I went, they didn’t have any bhindi or korma available. Their best dish is perhaps their naan bread and i also like how they offer some chaats which are snack dishes that you would find street vendors selling in India. I tried their pani puri dish(pani puris are kind of like small deep fried rotis and they’re served with potatoes and chickpeas in addition to tamarind chutney and a spicy liquid of some sort that I couldn’t identify). I also didn’t mind their chaat papri which are like deep fried wafers or crackers served with potatoes, chickpeas, yogurt and tamarind chutney. The novelty of these types of dishes being offered however doesn’t overcompensate for the fact that the quality isn’t all that great. I can’t see myself returning anytime soon.
