Solid 3.5 stars, in fact, terrific. A 4 star would be in the works once I try their food. Real chocolatey, thick as requested. A cozy spot, smaller than it looks but definitely retro as per pics. Friendly service. Note: wished that guy flushed the toilet properly!

The décor is a 50s themed retro style diner. I ordered the corned beef hash and eggs with a pancake. Portions are generous but it isn’t anything spectacular. It’s fair to midland. The pancake didn’t come till much later into my meal but it was huge and not bad. I’ll call this experience an average one. My friend ordered the fried chicken and fries. He said it was just ok. They serve breakfast all day. Maybe I’ll be back or not.

Good portion sizes. Server was great. Little over priced for a diner. Great atmosphere, love the décor.

We arrived twenty minutes before closing on a Sunday night yet the server couldn’t have been more gracious. I ordered the Reuben and I was very pleasantly surprised. It was one of the best Reuben’s I have had in a long time. It was prepared in the traditional way — to my mind, the ONLY way a Reuben should be served — grilled(not toasted), on rye bread with sauerkraut, corned beef and Russian dressing. Served up with fries of course. It was too much for me and I had to take half of it home but it was great. And we were so pleasantly surprised about the patient and very pleasant service we received so late in the evening. No rush at all — in fact we had to ask for the bill. The décor was fun too and parking behind was easy. I look forward to going again.

Oh how I love Bobby Sox. Being a 50’s diner freak, this place is one of my favourites. First off, it’s basic diner fare, but the menu is huge and there’s definitely something for everyone. Even a veggie burger for me! The servers are friendly, and I’ve always received speedy service here. Atmosphere wise, the place is decked out full on 50’s kitsch, with era appropriate music. Everywhere you look there’s so many little retro details, it’s pretty awesome. LOVE this place.

Yum! I had pancakes with a side of bacon… large tasty cakes and the bacon was delicious. my wife had poached eggs with hash browns… the eggs were cooked perfectly(and a bit oily?), but the hash were deep fried, not a deal breaker but unexpected. our server was pleasant and attentive. condiment containers coulda used a wipe tho. all said, we will go back when in the area.

After I got back from camp my family and my friends family went there for dinner. I liked the pictures and bench were you sit down(it was red sparkles!!!). I had the tuna melt which was one of the best ones that I’ve tried so far. The portions are big and the fries are endless. The milkshakes are thick and delicious, but they are humongous. I would rate it 3 ½ but I can’t do it on here. It’s kid friendly, not noisy, but the waitress didn’t know the specials or the soups. Lots of Elvis

Would I go back? — Yes! Were it closer then Maple Ridge. The food is classic, casual diner style. Uncomplicated, all American comfort foods. I would just make sure to avoid the same server. Would I recommend it? — Yes, food is more fun when it is themed and a 50’s diner is not common to Vancouver. I wished they went out all on the theme; and the staff dressed, looked and talked the part. Not that they need another reason to bring customers in. A table left and another sat down fluidly. A very popular place. Not a place to deny yourself of trying. It is worth the car ride, and when there you can fill up on cheaper gas at 125 in Mission where it was 138 in the city.

Classic Dinner: big portions & great value. Over the years I have found the staff more often then not give good service, but regrettably owners tend to under staff. So if you see one waitress/waiter, sipe your drink slowly & be patient.

Couldn’t get service in nearly empty restaurant. Server extremely unfriendly, and really just didn’t want to do her job. We left before ordering, as it just didn’t feel like eating here would likely end well. Manager take note — if no one is making sure the front staff is doing their job, it’s likely the kitchen staff aren’t being watched either. And that means do not eat there!!!

Not a bad place but I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here. It’s worth a stop if you’re in the neighbourhood like we were, and craving some classic diner food. We came for lunch but looks like they have a good extensive breakfast available as well. Service is friendly, but a bit slow. It wasn’t busy when we arrived, either. We were seated and given waters, but after a while, no one came to take our orders. We were patient and waited but one of my friends had to go find the waitress. Food was decent, not anything special but good value and portions for the money!

This place has decent diner food: a full selection of yummy stuff for breakfast, including some hearty but creative things you don’t see too often, and then the usual selection of burgers and sandwiches for dinner. Service is very friendly and the place is clean. All in all, good but not great food and excellent service. The only downside of the place is its unfortunate choice of mishmashed décor from the 40s(Betty Boop) and 50s(Elvis and milkshakes). Yawn. It doesn’t get more stale than this, but I guess they’re stuck with it given the name. Go for the food and pleasant service, leave for the interior decorating.

This diner is one of kind. You don’t find them this authentic anymore. It was full of people, but we didn’t have to wait for a table. The menu offers an arrangement of diner-ish items. We were there for breakfast on our way home from camping. So Spanish Omelette for me! It was nothing that special, but it wasn’t that bad either. My omlette was full of fresh veggies and cheese. Hashbrowns were run of the mill deep fried varierty, and same with toast. My friend had a benedict and felt the same about his meal. Coffee was fresh, and service was great. Price was ok. Would i go back? Maybe. I like diner’s that put effort into there items, like home made jam, toast, and great coffee. But i understand how going cheap makes it easier to make money. but it’s cute and has history so it’s worth a quick bite.
