Been here twice! Today we are doing a pick up. Good was very salty the first time, the second time it was excellent, so we are interested to do a pickup this time. Hopefully things go great, as the food is decent and we are sick of the usual cactus and milestones. I would recommend for others to try at least once!

The wife will be so jealous. My son and I stumbled upon this little gem in Maple Ridge. We ordered the Flaming Sausage and the Bitoque. I am not a sausage guy but put it on a unique looking ceramic serving dish and set it on fire and I seem to like sausage just fine. I was so excited about seeing a sausage on fire that I forgot to take a picture. I know the wife is going to make me drive out to Maple Ridge with her for Flaming Sausage. The Bitoque was huge and very good. Frankly, the steak should be half the thickness. I could barely finish and had no room for desert. Visiting or living in Maple Ridge, go to Sagres. You cannot go wrong with Flaming Sausage and the Bitoque.

I love this place because it has such amazing comfort food, nothing fancy, just good honest simple food in LARGE quantities(You wont leave hungry). My favourites are the sardines and the carne alentejana, and always accompanied by the house made sangria. The décor might not be very striking but the food & good service makes up for it ten-fold.

Nice family style restaurant where they pay attention to the happiness of the customer. I was taken there by close family friends: a Portuguese man and his wife. He goes there because it is the only restaurant that he knows of in the lower mainland that does authentic portuguese style food. The restaurant itself is no frills both in location and in style inside. You might say it is comfortable. But the food portions are generous and the food tastes quite nice. While we were sitting down at our table a young couple was on their way out. The young man said to the waitress: «We really love this place, it is one of our favorites and we are definitely coming back». My friend drove 30 minutes out of our way to get to this place as well. They are doing something right to create such loyalty. For my own final word — I would definitely eat there again if I was in the area(as unlikely as that is) but I’d only go out of my way to get there for someone who was nostalgic for Portuguese style cooking.
