Very sorry to hear the chain is going to be closed…
even though I was truly feeling sorry for these guy who will be losing jobs soon. but this last experience at this store is a disappointment.
I went to this location for instant passport picture taking service.
I was told the passport picture service cannot be done right away… the staff I was talking to he had to check with another staff whether it could be done instantly today…
Then ‘in — charge’ said their printers are very busy right now, there is no way to print instantly… while I was waiting for ‘in-​charge’ response, there is another customer who was also inquiring the same thing… what a shame this store is closing. I asked how long does it take… that guy said it maybe takes 3 days… I was like OMG. No wonder your store cannot keep business with «this speedy service» I inquired if the current printer can pause as I wouldn’t mind waiting. But this guy who represents the store refused and apologies for this inconvenience.
At one point, the basic service cannot be provided to customers on timely basis and they had to direct their business/​customers to Walmart or Loblaw’s as I was told to go to.
This location will be closed in the first week of August and it is following Darwin’s survival law… I understand the reason now…

Service: They don’t seem very interested into your all business/​customers who still want to use the service. or Just these two guys maybe reflect the company itself… anyways

For Example: 2 passport pictures at Black’s: $ 23.99 + Tax
VS. Shoppers at $ 12.99 + Tax

Now ask yourself … .Who is willing to pay more for this?

I took my Richo Wide Lense camera in for repair in 2000 when I lived in Canada. The staff kept my camera for themselves and refused to return it after I wrongfully assumed they would repair it for a fee. It was in the Markham Town Centre. I just think they are thieves and opportunists with no sales talent. They prey on the weak and vulnerable just like any other predator. Thumbs down to all of them…

I’ve been to this blacks before to develop my film… the service can be up and down, and the same goes for their picture quality… but after my subpar experience in the one downtown, I decided to send my photos up to markville mall once again hoping for a better experience.
I did my usual online uploads the night before and hope that they would live by their one-​hour policy for me to pick up an hour into their hours on Sunday.
Sure enough, as I walked in to an empty store on Sunday morning, my photos were ready for me. I opened them and noticed the colouring was a little strong, but I have come to realization that that is the quality of their printer because my previous experience here seemed to have the same results. However, it was not a bad thing as the hues were sharp, and I was able to identify everyone’s faces clearly. The paper was crisp and everything was a-​ok.
What I would recommend is that all Black’s Photography either callibrate their printers the same way or at least try to compare their print jobs because each store differs greatly, making the quality of their product very inconsistent.
